They are slow growers ....but I got them already pretty mid size and already in circle. I would say perhaps a couple of years of yours is a pretty young plant.

I got it from Floranika in Sg Buloh. Saw a couple also in other nurseries but usually labeled "not for sale". Its not easy to come by and good luck in your hunt!

In the Caribbean there are lots of palms eg. The tall one is called the fishtail palm (black palm) but in the Caribbean they are given different names. There is one called the traveling palm and there are lots more

I definitely feed my palms in Florida in the US. Our soil is very sandy and the palms love it but it doesn't hold much magnesium and iron so they become deficient without fertilizer. I use both a slow release granular fertilizer and give them a boost from a palm foliar feed nutrient spray made by the Southern Agriculture brand. That stuff is really great and I've never had issues with leaf burn. Not sure if it's available in your country.

I’m in the US and licuala mapu needs to grow in terrarium because it needs so much humidity. I have seen it grow outside in south Florida were its tropical and very humid in gardens.

My favourite palm is coconut , there is no day I can imagine without consuming coconut ,we use flesh for making curry, coconut oil , fire wood, trunk used to make furniture , etc... There is no part of this plant is kept unused . it's whatshaped kerala people who we are today ✌️😊

Bismackia silver palm are the favourite of the white ants at thier roots. Very sad my bismackia was 12 feet tall but was attacked by white ants. The trunk was more than 3 feet circumference
