Interesting fact about Operation Babylift: some of the babies weren't orphaned at all. Their parents put them on the planes so they wouldn't be caught in the war and traumatized or killed, but intended on leaving Vietnam themselves and reuniting with their children in America (some of these said kids were already in the orphanages because their parents couldn't feed them properly, but they still went back and visited them regularly). The kids flown from there were adopted out to awaiting families, but without their birth parents permission or knowledge. One judge even threw out the class action lawsuit, and declared them all to be separate cases, and told the attorneys working in the cases that they couldn't contact the birth families and tell them where their children were. And out of all of those kids, only 12 were eventually reunited with their biological families, and that's after years of custody battles with the adoptive parents. And the birth parents had to find their kids on their own if they wanted to reunite with them, and there was barely any (if any at all) paperwork to help them. So some never found their kids, and most of the kids never found their biological families when they started looking later in life. It's sad if you really think about it.

I find it extraordinary that this video is explaining to viewers that Winnie the Pooh actually had a life before Walt Disney. Right across the rest of the World, even in places where children are not taught English, the four "Christopher Robin books" are among the best-loved and most renowned works of children's literature. If you have never read these books, or had them read to you; if you are one of those people who only know "Winnie the Pooh" from the Walt Disney versions, then you have missed out on a very important part of life, something that unites people across the globe. Yes there was a boy called Christopher Robin, a teddy bear called Pooh, a little toy called Piglet and a toy donkey called Eeyore. Christopher's father, the playwright and novelist A.A. Milne wrote a series of stories for his son, back in the 1920s. When you find these books and look at the charming illustrations, do not assume that the little character with bobbed hair and a checked smock over his trousers is a girl. His clothes are typical of boy's wear in the 1920s.

The Winnie the Pooh one has more of a story behind it: While it was WW1, a Canadian soldier went to Britain and got to take his pet bear with him, 'Winniepeg', and Winniepeg soon became a great attraction and everyone loved him. Then, a little boy called Christopher Robin saw the bear and named his own little teddy bear after him. Christopher Robin's father then wrote stories about Winnie the Pooh. :)
