Buying rare and collectable Rolex and Patek Philippe watches can be a great investment if you choose the right models. When I buy watches to put away, I prefer something that has historical significance like the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5740 perpetual calendar or the Rolex daytona 6265 manual wind.

Man, I started buying Rolex watches specifically because they were a safe bet, bought my first new datejust 36 on 2021 and now I have a 6 watch collection with the last one I bought being a day date 40 white gold olive green dial, I don’t think about them as an investment I wear the day date everywhere, I will just enjoy them and leave the investment value on the side.

Totally agree. Richard Mille just looks like a novelty toy. All this new material nonsense just doesn't wash. When my wife desires a plastic necklace with manufactured diamonds, I'll believe Richard Mille has got it cracked. But for now, gold, platinum, and traditional/ classy are far more likely to be safe. As you get older, your tastes change. As does your style. And typically your disposable income goes up. I'd bet that trilogy, Cartier, Rolex, will still be strong, whereas Richard Mille could be gone like the fashion brand it is.( it might evolve, who knows)

Whatever the market dealers as always have to make their margins those offices and wages are expensive …the volumes may be reduced and some price correction is good for the buyer.

I sold all my „sport“ watches at the hype, I now only have dress watches I may buy the new Rolex if I get one, my fav at the moment and I will wear most often is the reverso. Interesting people start to talk to u, never had that with a Rolex or AP. those guys just talk about money.
