That second storm was gorgeous! I've never seen a Scorpion Tail before. Reed, I love the way you stand before a storm and point out its features as if it is on a chalk board in a class room. Thank you for educating me, sir.

4 years ago, I was outside at work when all the sudden at the corner of my eye I had a small low cloud rotation right above me, I watched in awe as it passed by I mean what else could I do it was to late to run for shelter and then a strong gust of wind nearly knocked me over right as it passed by, thank God that was all it did, I don't know if it was a funnel or not, it sure looked like one.

The one time I saw the sky burn orange like that we had a really bad night in Illinois. Top 3 storms of my life. Up there with the microburst in 2003 and the 60+ mph straight line winds when I was much younger from either in or outflow.

One tornado I saw form was from the cloud top down. The storm was forming a nice anvil cloud and the edge of the anvil formed pitcher spout that was headed downward directly into a building thunderhead at the back of the storm. I said, "This doesn't look good!" and immediately the TV started an emergency broadcast message for a tornado. Also saw a gustnado form. It formed on the gust front of a severe storm. It came down with about 100' of thickness and made 3 swipes on Lake Winnebago and went back up. It was over in about 10 seconds, but that tip was moving across the water at a speed of 100+MPH (have seen the Mercury test powerboats, and they don't move that fast). Glad it hit out in the lake about a quarter mile, otherwise my house would have been hit

Learned some more about the Andover tornado out of this video too. I actually saw the tornado from my job which actually is in Andover, Ks and it was a little too close to home cause if it did not turn right I think I heard one of the storm chasers said after watching other videos of the storm, my house could have be in trouble.

there was a nasty storm we had recently. Not a supercell as we don’t get those but I had just watched a tornado video and went outside to see the rain and what the storm was generally doing and there was a small area of rotation right above our house and it freaked me out so bad. It was probably nothing to be truly concerned about still kind of freaky. we do occasionally get tornadoes here but it’s hard for them to form as we don’t have the same conditions as say tornado or dixie alley but still a kind of freaky experience when you receive a tornado warning

differences in relative humidity make the air layers in to a thermocouple and because it is unanchored in free air the area of effect will under go electromotive rotation which in the us corresponds to the Coriolis as well as convective forces creating a positive feed back that will persist until the heat and humidity in the layers can equalize.

Hey, I love how educated you are on this. Do you have any videos that teach how the words you use apply to the storm generation? I would like to look at a storm like you do to know where in flow is happening and where a tornado might happen, or a handoff is happening etc

When the supercell ran into stable air, that apparently killed the tornado. So, it appears that unstable air is a prerequisite for tornadogenesis. Fair enough. Ditto for occlusion. But isn't occlusion the effect of RFD wrapping around the lower level circulation, cutting off (occluding) the inflow of unstable air? So, if the unstable air is occluded, how does occlusion increase the intensity of the circulation?
