That first tank looked pretty cool, and it looked like it could've had some potential as a compitent medium/heavy tank. A buff to the armor, at least 1 main gun (like a 40mm AT gun), a better engine/more engines, take out the 2nd turret, etc. Chances are that it could've done well in both the civil war and in the fight against the Japanese if given those modifications, but there's also the chance that they lacked the resources necessary to make such modifications possible.

The French Shanghai Armoured car could carry 2 Hotchkiss MG's, you can clearly see the empty mount in the turret.

the Steyr ADGZ was not domestically made, but bought from Austria
@jmantime4 жыл бұрын
no, it was made in china - in 1934 the steyr company sent engineers to china to help with vehicle manufacturing for the KMT. this ADGZ has riveted armor like most homemade IFV's used in china at the time , a regular ADGZ as smooth welded armor. This vehicle was captured by the IJA but later abandoned.

@@jmantime Could you provide your source so we can compare and see which one is correct? The source I have depicts a different scenario. From a friend who is well versed in Chinese tank history (excerpt from a book): imgur.com/a/hM7t1Y3 (hope this link works) basically, the ADGZ was sold to the Chinese with the other German vehicles in 1936-1937 and a Japanese document tells that one was disabled by a Japanese aircraft outside of Nanjing (the photo shows that vehicle), and the reason for the riveting is unknown, author speculates it was done for testing or something)
