I do like the idea of the new Acela but it just doesn’t make sense with the dilapidated corridor that limits its true potential. It also doesn’t help that it’s horn is just ear-bleedingly terrible

I'm not sure that that is actually a doubleheader. The second engine does not have its pantograph raised. It may just be in tow.

Lol!!! To the mighty United States of America. Your trains are slow and lethargic. Behind the far more advanced countries of the far east and Europe who's passenger trains are the technical engineering marvels of the world, the american government and it's people's along with ignorance, stupidity and laziness will never allow the United States of America to advanced themselves in these modern marvels of transportation called bullet train technology. However I do acknowledge the fact that the state of California has stepped forwards bravely to make a grand attempt to introduce highspeed bullet trains to a country that should of had it decades ago. This is called the California highspeed rail project. The building of a highspeed bullet train set form La to San Francisco. When completed, this will be America's first true highspeed rail with trains reaching speeds of up to 225 mph. If the american people and it's government were truly smart, they would remove their passenger trains from the shared freight train lines and build a highspeed bullet line from Boston Massachusetts to Jacksonville Florida. If they were to do this, It would become a great technical engineering marvel. They would have the ability to move millions people up and down the entire United States Eastern seaboard at speeds of 200 to 230 mph stopping in one or two major city in each state it travels through. But, american stupidity and ignorance prevents the United States from not only seeing the benefits behind this installment but never realizing their full potential for a much greater infrastructure and a third alternative to travel. For all this the United States will always fail to advance themselves and continue to proudly display to the world their slow and lethargic american trains called Amtrak. And now with Japan and China advancing themselves to the next level with maglev super train technology, with trains reaching speeds of up to 375mph, The United States of America has yet to even take it's first step. They wount give California 125 billion dollars to finish the highspeed rail project which will benefit many but they would have no problems at all with putting some fool on mars at a cost of 500 plus billion dollars which would benefit no one except for the fool. This is the exsample of their stupidity. A country that can put a man on the moon to jump around and pick up rocks at a cost of billions but cant build highspeed bullet train technology on the ground. This is the reason why highspeed bullet trains and maglev super train technology is the new american dream...

Except maglev. Hope you get that working somewhere besides the airport line though. The US should have taken the free one Japan Rail offered it from Baltimore to Washington.

Get a life man, blame our politicians for switching to cars in the 60s, god damn seriously i wish people like you got hit by a Northeast regional doing 125. Literally no other country has transrapid maglevs except china and japan, which is still yet to open. Not all of europe has 250 miles a second high speed trains, and even then we’e literally trying in a car-centric hell, in which some countries literally refuse. Also, just because a railroad has speed, doesnt mean it’s good. China’s HSR is hated and is falling apart, and the German’s ICE trains are an NE regional but faster by 15 miles. If we really were stupid, then the entire northeast corridor will be replaced by a 16 lane highway and would call it “the northeast expressway”, and wouldn’t try at all. If you actually did your research, which you mostly did not, in the 1960s, all our extensive railroads, which were world class, were destroyed and closed for highway monstrosities for cars. We had world class railways, even better than europe and japan’s. Then, they all went to waste, and then amtrak came in, struggling to keep american railroading alive. In the east coast, it did, even today, but the rest of the country was filled with highways. Now is the redemption arc, and in a way, it is working, were taking baby steps to get rid of the car-centric ways and make a comeback for rail, especially in a country known for cars Get a life and a brain, moron. Being an internet warrior will make you even more stupid, like right now you crazy fucker

Hope you get your "maglev super train technology" working somewhere other than the airport line. Also fix your horrible grammar. I almost died trying to read your entire paragraph filled with worse grammar than a 5 year old's first essay. Not to mention "maglev super train technology" is way more expensive than high speed trains running on conventional rail lines not to mention they will need to build dedicated infrastructure for maglev trains. Or in simple terms for you to comprehend maglev trains=expensive wastes of money.
