What can we say ! ? the tone of the voice of America, very difficult transitions, melismas, high and long notes, roars... and above all this aptitude to transcend the studio version. Her vocal diversity, her art of impro is a gift of God !

She used her diaphragm muscles properly and skillfully. That's why she could hit any note under the octave scale with the same consistency. She controlled every vocal element and did what she wanted.

It puts most opera singers to shame. Luciano even was extremely impressed with her coloratura abilities. It's not just head voice it's her abilities to transition registers accurately and quickly.

Thank God someone recorded her live shows so we can enjoy this treasure! And the younger generation who never knew this side can hear this. Her voice will never be matched.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!!! I know she never sang this song live the same way twice but she did some particularly different things here that I liked i.e., 3:03 "I'm gonna get, I'm gonna get, WoooHooo". She really conveyed the excitement of the lyrics there.The run she did on the word "Tonight" at 3:57. Her head voice was especially clear, effortless and athletic this night as evidenced at 2:50 on the word "fantasy". Whitney's legacy as the world's greatest singer continues to live on.

@@whitneyandmariahremasters8597 Uhm...from a technical perspective it was actually late 80s to early 90s. The early to mid 80s was really her experimenting with her voice, specifically on the high end of her range. By 89' she knew her voice much better and what she could do.
@whitneyandmariahremasters85973 жыл бұрын
@@samuelking9497 No that's totally untrue. Whitney's prime is indeed 86-88(not counting TV appearences) She started to have neck problems in 89. But I would still count 89 and 90. Maybe her tone was better and her creativity too in the early 90's. But hell no. She lost ability, ease on the upper, breath support, TA predominance. 89 was the starting of her smoking more and more(Said by Robyn). She also had her first vocal injurie in 91 after the Yokohama concerts (said by her mother). That means she had health and technically problems even at the start of the 90's. She was mostly sick all the IYBT tour overall. Maybe you should watch her concerts in 86 to change your mind:"I am changing in San Francisco 1986" "I am Changing in London 1986" I am Changing in New York 1986, You give good love in london 1986, Greatest Love of all in London 1986 "Saving all my love for you 1986" in various dates, Wanna Be Starting something 1986 london, new york, japan. She doesn't strain in those tours. Free projected full M1 notes with great overtones, thing she lost in the 90's.

Wait 11 secs is a whistle from her she did so softly. It sounds above the F7 she did Tokyo performance amazing. She really did have at least 5 octaves when she used her full range. Dionne Warwick in 80's said Nippy had 5 octaves confidently.

Apesar de que Whitney hasta 1995 le pegaba a todas las notas pero desde 1983- 1991 su voz era perfecta, es decir no se habían desarrollado nódulos y por lo tanto se escuchaban sus agudos más potentes y una fluidez impecable.
