People are on and on about how dominant Shaq was, but they forget how many offensive fouls were not called on him (I named his elbows the snow plows) and how he would camp in the lane for 4, 5, 6 seconds. The hard part with the NBA is one or two foul calls coould swing a game. And there were a couple of those against Sabonis, one of the few guys who could ever decrease Shaq's efficiency. Mostly because with his size and strength, even old Sabonis could push Shaq out of his spots while on the other end his sweet outside shot - great for a big of his day, pulled Shaq away from the rim.

The thing that Blazers team was lacking was a LEGIT alpha dog caliber scorer! In terms of roster depth, they were LOADED!!! Certain teams WITHOUT a true alpha dog caliber scorer can win rings at times. Like the 2004 Pistons with Sheed on the squad. But that Blazers team couldn't get the job done in the WCF that year vs. the Lakers. They were right on the cusp, but couldn't quite close it out. But man for man, that Blazers team was very versatile and talented! I think a prime Pippen on that same team would have been enough to win a ring with that team. Pip was past his prime (but still very good) when he went to the Blazers.
