Can u solder wired directly on sodimm pinnouts? Or do u NEED the adapter?

If you are good at soldering then it is technically possible. However, the purpose of an sodimm module is that it is removable. I would recommend an adaptor board like this one amzn.to/2U1eDXl I think I might get one and i could compare it with the official board :) hope this helps and thank you for the comment, regards, John

The motherboard only comes with the compute module kit but waveshare make a motherboard that works on all of the difference comute modules: amzn.to/35hm52Y
