I don't care what anyone says, the Yaris (regular) is a potential beast. I had one same color as this one. It went through a few different suspension setups but mostly it was settled on Tein springs, TRD struts/shocks, and an UR 23mm rear sway bar. I remember some 10 years ago or so there was a guy out in California that ran a small business importing performance parts specifically for the Yaris and other similar cars. Some of them were even parts that Vitz (global name for the Yaris hatchback) Cup racers used on their vehicles. The owners car had a supercharger on his Yaris and it was some 400hp I believe it was, it was crazy for sure. I sure miss the one I had (lasted nearly 300,000 miles!) and had some great memories with it. Thanks for sharing this video and your car with us!

I have the 2020 Yaris and stock it handles like a Porsche. Probably won’t bother with forced induction but the potential is definitely there. Plan to upgrade to a GR Corolla or supra in a few years.
@Deetroiter11 ай бұрын
@@AstroZombie1 if the 2020 uses the 1nz fe engine still, I do remember there was a supercharger kit for the Yaris and its engine. It added ‘only’ 100hp or so if I recall, but that’s literally double the power and it was pretty much bolt on from what I remember. All that was needed to be done was a line routed for cooling.

Congratulations on beating your personal best... BTW... are you really on 205 not 225??? Get that exhaust manifold installed somehow, and add the Prius C 13.4:1 compression pistons should give you more hersper. There's also the JUN cams out there. Also, are you interested in doing a rear disc brake conversion? I did a 275mm front rotor upgrade from a 2012+ Yaris SE and rear disc brakes by fabricating an adaptor plate, and my Yaris stopping power is now AMAZZZZIIINNNGGGG! Even without ABS.
@RassoolRacing Жыл бұрын
Yeah. I went down to 205 RT660s on my 15x8 wheels for more sidewall support. My 225 Rs4s were worn out and I got these rt660s in a trade. I'm definitely looking at the JUN cams and the disk breaks. I don't know if I'd ever do the pistons though, cus a 2zr swap seems like less work to me 😁

My dream is to do something like this with a Toyota matrix, take out all the interior and fuel tank, put in racing seats, improve rigidity and add a roll cage, replace the black glass with some hard transparent plastic do a minor tune or turbo. May need an LSD and beautiful wide body kit and more rubber.

The whole premise of you video is wrong. That wasn't a GR Yaris. That was the poverty spec GR Yaris which is slower than the new WRX around a track. If you were trying to match a real GR Yaris you would be destroyed. Haggerty did the real GR Yaris a massive disservice with their video. On a short track the pov spec is almost 2.5 seconds slower carexpert.com.au/lap-times

I'd argue that this video threw into sharp relief how much the base spec GR Yaris is not the hero everyone imagines when they think of the GR. I too felt like Hagerty did the GR Yaris a little dirty in their video, but I was trying to be a little more diplomatic in my presentation.
@binskee677 Жыл бұрын
I thought the same watching the Hagerty video, it’s just so stupid to compare a very very base Yaris to a Morizo edition corolla with track tires and no rear seats etc. wonder they didn’t use the GR Sport model of the yaris 😂 the Morizo had to be compared to a GRMN or at least a Circuit Pack Yaris with Track”able” tires and both would have beaten the Morizo edition Corolla.
