CTPaintball, and More Lifting a super beetle is much more complicated than a older Beatle but it can be done. No aftermarket support for lifting them but a few lowering kits exist.

If I had to choose, this is probably my favorite video this far! I've never seen a stock beetle burn rubber! And, VW's have been referenced to having lawn mower engines! For that front end shimmy, I wonder if it's because of the McPherson front end. I've read that those are plagued with wobbles a lot.

I think part of the reason for the sketchy steering on the mower is from damage to the spindles and axle due to wheelies, I have seen customers bring in their mowers who bumped a stump and bent the axles. Also, those briggs motors are notorious for the compression relief breaking, you will need to replace the the camshaft and accouterments to stop the issues with it not wanting to start. And do yourselves a favor, and leave the governor alone on that motor, they are designed to run at around 3600 rpm Max, you run it higher than that, and you will blow the motor all to hell. But, gotta say, luuuuv da build, keep up the crazy antics! much love from Texas, keep up the good work!

The first car i ever bought myself was a '73 Super Beetle. Drove it for 2 years with no reverse, no turn signals, heater boxes were gone, no speedometer, and those McPherson struts up front made it ride like a pogo stick. Engine threw a rod, I short blocked it and said goodbye. I think the only thing worse than a Super Beetle, is a fuel injected Super Beetle hahaha

Those single cylinder Briggs engines are notorious for losing their valve adjustment, they run .003 intake lash and .005 exhaust lash. When they get out of adjustment you lose your compression release. They're also pretty bad for blowing the head gasket between the cylinder and the push rod valley.

you boys underestimate that VW an awful lot. As it is, it hauls ass, but if you put electronic ignition, advance the timing a couple of degrees and adjust the fuel mix to a little rich , you will get yourselves a whole lot more tire squealin' than that.... too bad i'm too far from carolina, or I'd race and smoke that mower and bike on my mexican 1998 EFI beetle. These things have flat pistons and better compression. Mine tops in the highway @ 80MPH and it's stock
