I recall playing this game for hours and hours with my brother back when I was a kid. Definitely my favorite. I enjoyed the speedrun!

43:29 was trying to glitch myself and damn is it hard to get on that thing. Was trying this myself to skip the boring parts of the game, and pretty much softlocked myself here since I’m stuck here with no gravity boots. Just gonna have to keep trying til I get it i guess, but the fact that you got it first try, damn nice. Edit: finally did it, took me so many tries, not worth the trouble for anyone who isn’t speedrunning this in a serious way. Just rather get the gravity boots next time lol.

Probably the hardest trick in the run. Being that late it was a big reset point. Congrats on getting it! In the more recent runs of the game there is a new glitch where you instead play as clank for the whole level (there is a way to clip through walls with him). Should be easier to do but then you only do the clank sections which is boring.

good run! could you also explain how you did that skip at 48:21? is it a first run only thing or can it be replicated when you come back to snivelak (empty bridge)? Is there a video explaining this exploit?

This is an old strategy for that boss fight. You load the boss without starting the boss sequence, turn it into a chicken then hit it once to kill it. When you then start the real boss fight it will spawn in its dying animation. The new strategy for the speedrun is to have the boss shoot itself which is much faster, can be seen in this video: www.speedrun.com/rac2/run/ydr6k6jz The strategy I did works as long as the boss fight has not been started before. If it has already been started then it might not work, don't really remember.

back in the days when i played it on ps2 there was a bug that when you throw the axe at a wall and jump you can climb up the wall... is it fixed?

@@dreckigerdan4482 that bug is only available in Ng+, where they start the run from an already completed savefile. This run is any% which is from a blank savefile

I also discovered this trick by accident. Once you unlock new game+ suddenly you can do the game in first person. When I was exploring the "dev room" I noticed, same as you, that rapidly jumping and throwing your wrench could allow you to infinitely scale walls with ridiculous inclines. I remember making it to the top of the playtest mountain, the one with gradually increasing inclines, and looking out. You really can use that trick anywhere.

At 19:52 you skipped the dialogue cutscene I always rolled my eyes at as a kid. This cat biker thing makes some quip about a bake sale? I could have skipped the cutscenes I suppose... But I replayed this game a lot!
