Weird story, I started eating sea salt and vinegar chips when I was first playing this game. I hated those chips at first, but I loved playing this game. Now sea salt and vinegar chips are my favorite chips and every time I have them it reminds me of my first play through.

That's not how canon works. I mean, it IS canon, but that's not the reason. It could take place before RnC1 and still be canon.

@@Nukaquartzzz It makes perfect sense. Terminator Dark Fate takes place after the events of Terminator 2, and yet, most don't consider it canon. I could write fanfiction that takes place immediately after The Return of the King and noone would call it canon. Better Call Saul takes place before the events of Breaking Bad, and yet, everyone considers it canon. To say that something is canon is to say that we believe they're part of the same fictional timeline, but if the work is too bad, or too inconsistent with previous work, we can reject its canonicity. Another common criterion is whether it's made by the original creators or by someone else (e.g. Dune by Brian Herbert is almost universally considered non-canon). Ratchet Deadlocked is great, and consistent with previous installments, and made by the same company, therefore it's canon. And it would still be canon if it took place before the events of Ratchet & Clank 1.

Despite this, Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal being rushed (Because they were released yearly), these games still released as the masterpieces they are which is beyond impressive. More than positive Insomniac focused on the most important aspects of these games that truly matter and used their time wisely given the circumstances. I had blast from what I streamed from PS Plus Premium, going through the Ratchet and Clanks I didn't get a chance to play because I only played the original trilogy, Tools of Destruction, Into the Nexus, 2016 and Rift Apart. But I might hold-off from the original trilogy and Deadlocked in case Sony makes PS2 Classics on PS4/5 versions of those games. Only two Ratchet and Clank games they put out as emulated Classics releases are the two PSP spin-offs, Size Matters (Out now) and Secret Agent Clank (Coming Wednesday). Would be nice to get the trilogy and Deadlocked as well to complete the classic Ratchet and Clank games.

Yes all Ratchet and Clank games for PS2 are Masterpieces. Only Size Matters lacked in quality because it was originally for PSP and you definitely notice that. So You never tried Deadlocked?

@@0commentarygaming Late response, but Size Matters is bizarrely difficult. Enemies are pure bullet sponges and if you don't have good enough armor, some attacks drain your health.

Ratchet shows a bit more edge in that scene. Overall I didn't like how this game wrote him as such a generic noble "hero" though. I feel like R&C1 Ratchet might have even got along with Vox a little or at least been tempted by his offers.

I know its the same devs as the resistance series but this games areas or arenas and resistance fall of man had similar layouts at least from what i see it. The futuristic facilities, energy barriers preventing from going forward, even the spider tank with the exact shooting sound.

I too remember playing this game in Coop mode. It was great that they added this feature to the game, since it was the only Ratchet and Clank game which you could play in Coop :)

ps2 cgi cutscenses are in full hd, compare to the ps3 version, its comprassed to 4:3 instead of what we are 1:04 seeing on the ps2/pcsx2 version

the pre rendered cutscenes on the ps2 can be set to widescreen to 16:9 on the ps2 as well as the ingame cutscenes, even though the ps3 does have in game cutscenes in 16:9, It doesnt have pre-rendered cutscenes in 16:9, its comprassed to 4:3

Only thing I didn't like is how you can't see Ratchets tail in the Armor.

I didn't even noticed that. I think this is the only Ratchet and Clank on Ps2 where Ratchet has no tail. Even in the steel armor in Going Commando Ratchet has his tail armored lol.

I feel like the reason Ratchet doesn't have a tail in this game is animations are different from the previous games. This game was rushed in some ways and they likely didn't have time to animate his tail so they rolled with it and made a joke out of it hence what Ratchet said at 3:54. It was even mentioned in of the games pre-release trailers. That's just speculation on my part though so take it with a grain of salt.

@@shortwinger3 Yes it is possible that this game was rushed someway. I remember that this game was a bit laggy on original hardware, so it could be that they removed the tail for better performance. ( I don't know if it makes a big difference ). Lol i never noticed the joke at 3:54. Maybe Al saved some time just pushing the tail behind the armor instead of wrapping the entire tail in armor plates 😂

@0commentarygaming it's been a long time since I played it on PS2 but I don't remember it being laggy. The only major instance of lag I remember was that one mission where you have to kill enemies before they reach a goal. There would be so many enemies the console couldn't handle it and it would tank the framerate.

Also Secret Agent Clank Is Not the last okay maybe as the last installation for the PS2 but in 2011 We Officially returned in the Original Universe of them but somehow They know Scorth and Qrip whatever thier names was? Looks like this take place in another universe but still is the true Okay Let's See 1.
