I have had a ratchet rake for almost 10 years now, and have found it a very useful tool for any number of uses. I certainly endorse your recommendation. I got it originally to push out brush in my Forest, predominantly multiflora Rose. And it does that quite well. You can get all kinds of tooth bars for the loader but they actually cut the saplings and the brush, not pull it out of the ground like I want. But I have found a real use for this tool in minor maintenance on my long gravel driveway. It is really good at getting out bumps and small ruts. It doesn't replace a box blade for heavy duty stuff, but it is great for small stuff. Indeed, I have used it so much that the lower teeth on the ratchet rake have been worn down about 50%. Sooner or later I'm going to have to get a new one.

Hey bud, yup I love mine too. Aside for the brush obviously, I also call it a poor man's tiller. I've torn up/graded/and prepped for seed with it a bunch of times, it's just a great tool.

Yes sir. For the price, it’s probably the best attachment per dollar option out there.

Suggestion. Go to your local fire department and ask for some old fire hose. I use it to prevent chaffing on the ratchet strap (over the top of the bucket) You'll need about 1 foot of hose per strarp.

That’s a neat tool Case. But I’m surprised that the straps would hold it on. Just wondering can there be a strap in the middle. ? And can it be flipped so the bigger more aggressive teeth are on the bottom. Great video Case , thanks.
@BuildALotAcres2 жыл бұрын
There is a holder for a strap in the middle, but it only comes with two straps. The person I bought it from was the original owner. A friend of mine has a smaller Ratchet Rake that’s around 54-60” long, and his only has two strap holders. I wondered the same thing about the reversing it. I’m not sure. Maybe someone else who has one will know. Thanks for watching and commenting Noel :)

I don't see it being very useful fixing ruts in dirt driveways especially if you need to add material. You would need to keep putting it on and taking it off.

@@BuildALotAcres Maybe if you could attach it to a rear mounted plow blade that would free up your bucket .

Sure, I will leave a comment. First, put your ROPS up. I have seen tractors rolled on flat ground... Second, as soon as I see a KZbinr pandering for likes, comments, subscriptions, etc. I decide right then and there not to hit any of those buttons. If your content is good, I will, but not because you have to ask. Seems like EVERY video now.

I am surprised that it does not damage the cutting edge on the two mounting points. Great point about this taking up very little space. It looks like a great tool. I always drop a like and comment for every video I watch as I know what you mean about the KZbin algorithm.

Nice video. A buddy of mine used one at his cabin. He liked it too. He issue was that he had a large stick come up and damage a ratchet on one of the straps. He bought a new ratchet and unbolted the straps from it and the damaged one. He then swapped them out and was good to go again.
