Thought for sure this video would be about the stock upper ball joint not being able to stay put with the lift and needing aftermarket UCA’s. You can see the upper joint move in the UCA when it was knocked free from the spindle. It was still crooked put back together later. That thing will creak rocking back and forth and eventually push through the stock UCA. Spacer lifts are fine. Stock Ram UCA’s with any lift is no bueno.

You probably didn't have any issues because you didn't have larger/heavier tires. Once you have those on, the front end of the truck will have a lot more strain with the extra weight added. Definitely upgrade UCA's and other suspension components if needed

I put the Eibach kit on my truck and they said to install the height ring at the second groove from the bottom of the shock. You're not even suppose to use the 5th groove. My truck is 1 inch lower in the front than the back. I would recommend the 3rd groove for a dead level ride.

So if you are interested in installing a leveling kit solely for looks and appearance but don't want to do it because it may ruin the vehicle, try looking at the whole entire truck, including the cabin/rooftop area multiple times before you get it installed and spend the money to get one. It's what I did and it actually looks amazing to me. It may take practice to let it all sink in. I don't know if anyone agrees with that. Sometimes, I think we look at the middle to bottom body of the truck only and forget about the top. I also think cool looking tires especially wheels can be distracting and grabs a lot of attention from the driver for an attractive look to the vehicle, probably more than what you see at the top. Think of convertibles where the rag top folds down and all you can see is the body, wheels, and tires. I could be wrong but trying to make things better for those who wish to install leveling kits to make their vehicle look more aesthetically pleasing but also don't want to put a leveling kit to wear out suspensions, the tires faster, etc. Spending the money on one can hurt especially if it hasn't been installed the right way. Try talking to a professional mechanic who can level your truck the right way along with an alignment done at least.

Did you change your upper arms when you put your leveling kit?
@supergirl109 Жыл бұрын
@@soonwillmoon4479 You mean the front end? I wanted a leveling kit to give my 2012 Colorado a more balance appearance. No angles. So actually I traded it in for a 2021 Tacoma and left it stock. The Tacoma already looks pretty leveled with just a slight rake appearance which is good enough. 👍 leveling kits and lift kits sure did wear down my tires on the Colorado faster.

We haven’t but that’s very common, usually after you fool with suspension parts even if torqued you’ll have to adjust them roughly 1000 miles later. It’s just breaking in the product and the screws back out a tad bit. I suggest when you retighten them to put on some blue thread locker just as another precaution!

What about a front and rear leveling kit? Would that cause the same thing or would it ride well since it’s not squatted so much
@RatchetWrenches Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure but I would imagine if you lower the rear to the ride height in the front it would be ok. The main reason leveling the front causes more wear overtime is because the front suspension is strained from being up higher with the heavy engine and it changes the geometry and driving angles of everything
