The #1 asked question I receive is how much did we spend to build a forged long block for the Turbo'd New Edge Mustang? In today's video, I break it down part by part and go over how much we spent and.... it was A LOT OF MONEY! Most of the parts we purchased were through Cody Queensberry, owner of StraightLineSolutions.

It can make as much or more than any of the newer coyotes and its in a much lighter car and it is still alot less all in than buying a newer coyote and then doing a big power build on that. Everyone always says oh you gotta do more mods on the old cars yea but they coat way less money so you have less into it when it's all said and done and have equal or better results and many people prefer the older cars me included.

I plan to build an engine for my 2v fox... un decided on which forced induction I'm going with. I'm really considering a kenne bell on top of trick flow heads... It all adds up, I'm like 15k into my 4.6 swap fox but that's with a holley terminator x and holley digital dash, lots of aftermarket suspension, built rear axle and so on. And that's just parts, I'll done all the labor myself in my driveway. It made the 600 mile round trip to lmr cruise in for 2023 and got 21 mpg running 75-80 on i35 with 3.73 gears she's humming at 2400 rpm

Boosted mod motors can put in work ecsp for the money spent. Most newer coyote cars plus mods cost way more than one of these properly built with forced induction and everything needed to make big reliable power. What I think is funny is how many ppl think ol 4.6 can't do more than 400 wheel like no matter what. Ppl don't even understand what a built short block is anymor
@RidinDirtyRollinBurnouts

@midnight347 short blocks are getting harder and harder to find for these cars. Lots of them are on backorder, likely due to a shortage of suitable cores. If mine ever leaves the chat, I'll have to go coyote route :(

I like you kept 2v but me liking it doesn't matter. I know $10,000 is a lot and I tell guys all the time, tranny + built 2v that can handle 600wheel is going to run you about $15,000 if you can't do the work yourself. It's why most guys just fine used f150 coyote with 6r80 and swap it and put boost on it, nothing wrong with 2v it's just coyote can be the cheaper route with less hassle. Plus, you get the best of both worlds you get a 99-04 body with a coyote engine.
@RatchetWrenches
@RatchetWrenches 14 күн бұрын
I agree yeah. I love the 2v platform and it's always an underdog but can put out when you have it built correctly. Coyote swaps are definitely a better bang for your buck being that you'll have a much better starting point NA and holding power wise. I've also always preferred how a 2v sounds over the coyote but that's just me

Awesome build! You'll be safe on nearly anything you can throw at it now! That broken top edge of the piston you went through probably had a lot more to do with tight OEM piston ring end gap than non-forged bottom end components. Either way, I hope she holds up making tons of power for a really long time now! Don’t do fender exit exhaust unless you’re planning on making it a full time drag car. If you plan on still driving it on the street regularly just do a straight pipe or put some Borla Atak mufflers on it.
@RatchetWrenches
@RatchetWrenches 5 ай бұрын
Why are you against fender / bumper exit? From my research straight pipe is too raspy and somewhat similar to fender / bumper exit. Borla ATAK would be awesome but I'd rather not spend $1200 on a catback that has slightly different mufflers / resonators then what I have now

@RatchetWrenches straight pipe sounds badass with turbo setup the turbo itself acts as a muffler. I'd at least run it back and dump it under the axle. Bumper exist is good because it's less weight better response so it's all in what you want I suppose. .
