Confused about rates and expo? So was I! In this video I'll answer questions like; What are rates and expo? What's the difference? Why do they matter? and give you a visual demonstration of the difference between the two functions and show you how they work. (expo is short for exponential) This concept applies to both airplanes and quadcopters.

Simple ideas that are often hard for a beginner to grasp, until someone gives them a simple graphical view of what's happening. The setup may be slightly different on some radios but it doesn't matter which radio they use, the principle is the same. Well done Adam.

Amazing explanation. I'm not flying any aeroplane but entering my first battlebot match soon and finding it so hard to actually point my bot in a specific direction, I keep wiggling side to side as it's almost impossible to drive in a straight line. Going to try messing with this and see if it helps! Think it should.

Hi Adam, great tutorial. Can you give me a favor and answer one question related to the FS-i6S? Is it possible to somehow set up a switch or other button to move the servo arm in one direction and when the button is released, the servo will return automatically to the center position?

I´m using neg. Expo on one of my model sailboats with a tacking jib (The front sail wanders over from side to side, opposite of the wind) to get good feel on the ends, and be able to control the sail in and out smoothly and finely. The stick in center means the jib is held on the middle of the foredeck, wich I want to pass over quickly

are you familiar with the RL simulator. if so there is a setting in the physics area that allows you to set different percentages for flying. there is a physics speed setting that can be changed anything from 100% down to 20%. i have been playing with different settings and would like to know what an 80% setting would equate to in my transmitter. it slows the reaction of the plain down but what would be the rate or expo setting in my NX8

What about Rates over 100%? Is that possible, considering the Servo has enough range of motion?

For quads, do i have to leave the rates 100% and Expo at 0% in the controller or it is override by the flight controller settings?
@RCwithAdam1
@RCwithAdam1 5 ай бұрын
you don't HAVE to, but if you have multiple quads that's probably the easiest thing to do, so that you don't have to redo it for every model profile.

Do you need to configure Rate and Expo both on Controller and beta flight?
@RCwithAdam1
@RCwithAdam1 Жыл бұрын
No, just either one. For planes (without a flight controller board) you'll use the transmitter, and for drones you'll use betaflight.

I have the radio Master TX 16S radio controller I brought the capaci Sinaloa 25 trying to get it to slow down not too good with betaflight configurator They said you can go with in beta flight configurator to slow your FPV down very confusing for me
