Best tutorial I've ever seen for the RAV and I've been searching for a year. Not only are these extremely informative but easy to follow. Even someone with absolutely no music background can understand this. Thank you so much.

Really really good. I have no musical experience and just bought a RAV last month. This was so simple and clear even I could get the hang of this. The progress I feel from this video keep my interest high. Thank you very much.

Thank you for helping ! Any chance you could help or advice what kind of RAV DRUM would BE perfect for start to buy and where ? THANK YIU

It seems to me that the Rav drum lends itself to time signatures such as 2/4, 4/4 etc. However, what if the player wished to diversify and use time signatures such as 3/4, 6/8 or 5/4 etc.? What advice would give to such a player please?
@funkytomtom3 жыл бұрын
Speaking just as a drummer, the Rav absolutely has no preference of time signature!!! Simply learn how to count whatever time signature you desire and structure around it. Sometimes it can be helpful to break into groups of two's and three's as well, i.e., 7/4 can more easily be felt as two groups of two and a group of three (or a group of four, then three) than simply as seven altogether.

Thanks you, if I understand well the mean thing is that the rhythm and melody repeat itself after 8 counts all the time, that is wat makes stabil and harmonious?

Great tutorials for getting started, not only as far as practicing, but even for beginning compositions. One question: what kind of stand are you using for your RAV, or what do you recommend? Thanks!
@KayRauber5 жыл бұрын
Hi Brandon That's great to hear! I would recommend the "multi-percussion stand" made by Sonor. It's quite expensive compared to a normal snare stand, but absolutely worth the money. Very stable and you can fix almost every percussion instrument with it!

Great tutorial thank you, the only thing is confusing at 3:52 you say your going to pick a note for the 7th marker but the 7th note is already taken up by the right hand, it has a number 7 next to it.
@KayRauber6 жыл бұрын
You are right David! It should mean number eight. I just recognized it now. Thanks👍

Thank you brother. Please keep the tutorials coming. I have just got my rav b Celtic and your videos are the best on KZbin! Could u make one about timing and different rythms? Are there any rules to follow because I'm just making random patterns and it has no structure.

What scale is this in, I like the sound of this drum. This sounds very interesting and has a different flavor to it that’s mystical and charming.

I was wondering the same thing. Love the sound of Kay’s drum. I saw below in the comments that it is a B Onoleo.
