He still ran shows in the late 90s. My mentor, Buddy Wayne (Nick's dad) took me to an Aladdin Theatre show in 1997. Bart Sawyer was on that show and wasn't happy to see a "mark" backstage. "Kayfabe, boys!" Buddy told him I was smartened up. Fun experience!

His autobiography is extremely underrated. Good stories, covers a lot of the territory days post-national expansion that often gets overlooked, and he's got a good sense of humor.

I met him in a gym called Eastside and he was very nice ,strange part is as a kid we went to live shows in Redmond and madras as a kid and pushed him when he fell out of the ring lol . I never thought id see him as an adult in Portland oregon at the gym.

He's still living in Oregon. He has a wrestling school, and does a lot of stand-up comedy at various clubs around Portland and Salem.

Len Denton (professional name) was great, as the Grappler, and the unmasked Dirty White Boys (with Tony Anthony, who was Grappler #2, with Denton, in Southwest and Central States). Good promo, hell of a worker, good booker.

I am a huge fan of Raven and followed his first shoot interviews on KZbin when the medium first was launched. Listening to him today it is clear he is having memory issues and other possible neurological effects. Compare this video to anything from 15-20 years back and see the difference in his speech pattern and recall issues of words and places due to apparent memory loss. Hope Scott Levy is getting the help he needs an dis seeing a speciallist to reduce or slow down this deterioration

He seems medicated to me. Like a mix between anxiety and pain meds probably for neck or shoulder issues. I remember him mentioning something along those lines in his TNA HOF speech. He's also 59 now. People just generally slowdown around that age.

Denton said in his book it was Scott Norton. Denton got him booked him in Portland when he was first breaking in, and Norton wanted to return the favor. Denton thought he was getting a contract, but Bischoff only booked him on a per appearance basis, and after a few months Denton quit when he saw that a contract wasn't coming. At that point in his life, he was already semi-retired and had good money coming in as co-owner of Piper's auto repair shop in Portland, so he was only going to give that up for a full-time deal.

I remember Heyman once booked a 60-minute episode of ECW TV where literally half the show was a single Shane Douglas promo. It was about as exciting as you would expect.

This is what Tony Khan has never done. He just sees a match he always wanted to book and thinks it will bump the ratings (and to his credit, on occasion it has) but he doesn't have anything planned before or after the specialty match. Just doing dog collar or cage or exploding barbed wire matches for the sake of doing them and that they 'cool.' I used to think the same way too, but if you watch enough pro wrestling and really study what works and how it works after a while you start to understand that it's much more complex than just having a specialty match (or even just simple match making between two wrestlers).

I was kind of following you till you credited Tony for any ratings bumps. They’re accidental, if they occur.

Long careers in pro wrestling do a number on the human body. In Raven’s case, it’s not so much from taking bumps & more due to the extracurriculars he enjoyed in the 90’s 😆

The ding dong could have fixed the title. His legal name was Lynn but everyone knew him as Len. But accuracy and clarity is too much to expect from a typical rumor channel.

@@georgemaranville3305 The host does these “shoot” interviews, podcasts with Dutch Mantell and proves that accuracy matters less to his generation. The title should be clear, concise and, above all, accurate to the video. I’ve heard and read countless interviews with and about Denton and never heard anyone ever refer to his actual legal birth name.
