That is the great thing about Old School, you can build great un-powered decks. Great games. Game 2 was a real nail biter!!

So true OS doesn’t require power though it’s usually nice to have.. I’ve seen many a non-powered deck wreck people and go to top 4 and even win a tournament. It’s open slots to put in more damage dealing stuff ;)

I like pestilence as a way to deal with swarms. very effective against the 1/1 fliers, mana elves, goblins and White weenie decks. Maybe a good sideboard option.

That’s very true. I had one in sb for ages before I splashed white and green into it but never seemed to use it because this deck had 4 bolts and a fireball back then md. Perhaps I should get the pestilence back. I’m considering sb spirit links on my juzams as well to heal (as he can’t remove them easily and will sometimes just throw the burn at the dice instead).

At 16:18 you take 3 damage from the 2 pixies and the pendelhaven but you only take away a D1 and turn a D5 to a D4 changing your life total from 11 to 9… but you should be on 8 from that point on I believe.

04:32 In my opinion a slight mistake on turn 1. Playing the Taiga would be better. You have access to the Lightning Bolt already and could have played Pendelhaven on turn 2 to use it immediately.

Ohhh snap. Maybe that timetwister was too much of a gamble? But I can understand the choice to do so. Tough to see composition A getting beaten 2-0, but it was a nice deck he had, flying circus :)

Game 1, turn 3 you play Timetwister. Then you shuffel your graveyard (Hypnotic Specter) and the last card on your hand (Underworld Dreams) into your library. And then it looks like you shuffel Timetwister back into the library as well rather than putting it in the graveyard... Thats not legal play.

Ah that’s Very likely. It’s not uncommon to happen with twister once you get a bit to drink and it’s a casual night like this one. The usual solution once one realize it - is just to discard it once you draw it and then draw another card to replace it. If you regrowth or recall it - then it’s tutored for instead. ;)

It’s always a great sight! Jakob who is the pilot and creator of the RUG n’ burn deck has several videos on the channel where he is underpowered but is still managing to bonk peoples heads 🍻 In some of the more recent videos he is on UR Counterburn and doing very well I might add.

Question for you Gandalf the dark. If I’m attacked by a creature with forest walk and I have forests in play. Can I use maze of ith to I tap it?

Hi Chris. It’s perfectly viable to use a maze of ith in that situation. The creature will still get in unblocked since it has forest walk - but it will do 0 damage to the player because of the maze of ith.

Oh thats possible. This does happen sometimes for most people I know. Luckily it tends to be remembered when it’s drawn again and will then get discarded. 😅

@@Firevine haha ok 😄 I used my small mic at the latest recording (comp-a against UR counterburn) to test. I don’t know if the sound gets better by it but I think it gets a bit more stable in volume by it if nothing else. ;)
