That's awesome! My husband is doing a juice fast right now too! Going raw after you've introduced soft fruits & veggies for a day or two is the best thing for your body. Since this recipe contains corn, be sure to use it sparingly that first 15 days while your body acclimates to eating whole food again. We do put cooked beans on top, but you could take them out and still do a raw veggie tostada that is equally delicious! God Bless! ~Erika

This was by far one of the best & most encouraging comments I have ever received! You are exactly the kind of person that I do these videos for... If we as a society, could just see the benefit of changing our diets to include more whole & raw food - and how delicious good food can be; then I think a lot more people would do it. Thank you so much for this comment! God Bless! ~Erika

Yummy! Love the fresh addition of lime juice you suggested. These turnout terrific every time I make them. I've tried thawed corn, canned corn and fresh corn. They all turn out great, but when in season, fresh corn is the family fave. I can barely get a full basket cause of hands sneaking in mid drying. Lol

In cutting the corn off the cob, try using a bunt cake pan. Support the corn cob on the tube in the center of the bunt pan and slice the kernels off. the tube in most cases will keep your knife from bumping the pan and the kernels fall into the bowl of the pan. God bless.

I am on a 60 day juice fast, and would like to go raw in 15 days. While fasting I have been craving Fritos, and I am so happy that I found your video! Do you put beans on your tostadas? If yes, how do you prepare the beans? If no, what do you put on your tostadas? Peace

Sesame Seed would be an awesome substitute for flax - and I think the taste can be better sometimes too! Thanks! God Bless! ~Erika

I'm no way close to be a raw food person.. For years I keep peaking in on the world of raw veganism. God willing, one of these days I'm going to surprise myself and at least part of my daily intake will be raw/vegan. This recipe has really caught my eye and the raw taco meat that i've seen online and youtube as well.. Bless the hearts of those who lately have given me a better insight on raw foods than I have in the no so distant past.

Can you tell us what kind of salsa you use? Most salsas I find do have vinegar. Do you simply make some fresh with your VM?

Really great video, your instructions are so clear, I really want to try this using my new dehydrator (I have the same model as you). Two questions, would it be ok to use frozen sweet corn or is that not 'raw'. Also have you written a recipe book we can buy, I really like your simple instructions, they're easy to follow, especially for someone like me who is very new to dehydrating healthy foods.

Do you know how much corn this comes out to? A cup or more? I am thinking of using frozen ORGANIC corn because it's so hard to find GMO-free corn cobs and I am sure the organic ones are very steep in price.

Hi I made the chips last night and I used the brown flax seed instead. BLECH! left my stomach very acidic. BAD BAD BAD. What is the diff btw the brown flax seed and the golden? I have LOVED every thing else..

Aaron and I are giving serious thought to going veggie or raw for a while. He has some concerns to iron out because he is a high endurance athlete, and his body can't afford to lose any weight. Anyway, I love that I have your videos. Real food, not just drinks, that we can look to when we will need help on this future journey! I do wonder if you could do something that focuses on balancing a child's diet this way. I am not sure if I have genuine concerns or peer pressure for not doing it.

there's one query I have about dehydrated raw food. those chips that you made, how long do they last out of the fridge. It takes about a day or so to make them just so that we can eat them in ten minutes. Please let me know. thanks.

That's great! So glad things turned out ok the second time around! =) I'm always surprised at how fast flax seed & meal will go rancid... it's definitely ruined several of my recipes before. Your flax will keep fresh much longer in the freezer. Enjoy & God Bless! ~ Erika

It is very hard to find fresh (and even canned) salsa without Vinegar... If you don't have any luck, just pop a combination of Tomatoes, onions, serrano peppers (to taste), salt, and cilantro into your Vita-Mix and blend until its at a consistency you like. Just remember, that flavors concentrate in the dehydrator, so don't over do the salt or heat (unless you like it that way)! Hope that helps! God Bless! ~Erika

for dmr31 I tried the "raw taco meat" and thought it was disgusting and I eat raw all the time. My problem is that I can't really substitute all that well. What I found that did work though was instead using this made up taco meat was to use black beans, yeah it might not be raw but it's not meat and it's one step closer so if you find yourself in the same spot that I was at, you might want to give it a shot.

Oh no! That's a bummer! There's a couple of things that might have contributed to the bad taste: 1) Rancid Flax Seeds (This happens very quickly if the seed/meal is old); 2) If there is Vinegar in your salsa; or 3) if your Corn isn't fresh. I mad the mistake my first time and used salsa with Vinegar and they turned out gross. Oh, and there's not much difference in Dark vs Golden except, I think that the Dark Seeds have a much stronger or 'nuttier' flavor. Hope that helps! =) God Bless! ~Erika

Thx. Great recipe. But id avoid flax seeds. Theyre high in lignans and are estrogenic. Chia or sesame seeds would be a better choice

We'll here's another expert's opinion / suggestion: If you really want it raw, stick to 107 F. Higher that that will certainly effect the outside, no matter how moist the inside (or outside) is. This is the reason why some people (and usually kids) cut the crusts off their sandwiches, because it contains carcinegens. And an extra reason to skip fried food. Suggestion: if you like to make the crisps more crunchier: do not grind the flexseed, but soak the whole seeds for 20min in a bit of water and then mix the gloop with the blended stuff manually! Another good reason to do this, is because ground flexseed turns into something unhealthy, as soon as it stales. So never buy ground or brooken flexseed in a shop, because you don't know how old it is. Cheers & all the best! Alec Alchemist Garden Amsterdam
