How much butter did you yield from two cups of cream? Looks like approximately a cup?

Fun, but not worth the cost. 1 pint of butter yields two sticks of butter. Costs close to $6 for a pint of heavy cream, today. Four sticks of real cream butter only costs $2.50. There's a logical reason people don't churn butter today like our grandparents did. #1, it makes no sense unless you own a milk cow.

A different dude said to use the paddle attachment and that did not work. 😢 Thankfully I found you and began to use the whisk attachment. Guh. Need to get a splash guard but I made butter!!!! 🎉 It was a bit messy. 😅

I use the dough hook attachment on slow speed, (I cover and walk away for several minutes while it washes the butter) it works really well to wash and then salt the butter.. good video!

I just made this butter and I LOVE IT!!! I will not buy butter again, this is so easy to make. I like to have both salted and unsalted butter I left this one unsalted, how much salt should I add to my next batch?

First, I don’t rinse my butter. It turns out great! I express the liquid/buttermilk out of my butter through a special super fine bag and it gives me 1lb of butter and a pint of buttermilk. Works great!

Question, i really want to make some different herb flavored butters. When would be the best time to add rosemary/thyme and garlic to the mixture? Just at the end and turn the mixer on again? Thanks so much for the great video, trying this tomorrow!

Thank you for this. It was perfect in the kitchen aid. I followed what another commenter said, as soon as it started to stick together I spun the butter mixture off the ballon whisk and replaced with the white paddle. Worked a treat. And it took less than 6 minutes in total plus all the rinsing with iced water. Thank you for a lovely and easy to follow format!

You can then make clarified butter. This process will remove the reminding milk content from the butter and make your resulting butter 100% fat that can be stored at room temperature and be soft all the time.

Adding salt is more than for taste, it will make your butter last longer. This was the original purpose before we had refrigeration.

It takes 30 minutes. I made this yesterday with my new kitchenaid stand mixer. It got messy towards the end of mixing. Have a towel handy if you run the mixer on the higher speed. 1 quart of heavy cream makes a good amount of butter. Salt can be omitted if salt free butter is required. My family loved the taste (I used salt).

wish that I had seen this before last night :) I made a batch from COLD heavy whipping cream (low butter recovery, I guess.). I added CRUSHED ICED WATER to the butter (the ice got mixed in with the butter :). I didn't use the mixer to rinse, which is much better than using my hand

We'll here's another expert's opinion / suggestion: If you really want it raw, stick to 107 F. Higher that that will certainly effect the outside, no matter how moist the inside (or outside) is. This is the reason why some people (and usually kids) cut the crusts off their sandwiches, because it contains carcinegens. And an extra reason to skip fried food. Suggestion: if you like to make the crisps more crunchier: do not grind the flexseed, but soak the whole seeds for 20min in a bit of water and then mix the gloop with the blended stuff manually! Another good reason to do this, is because ground flexseed turns into something unhealthy, as soon as it stales. So never buy ground or brooken flexseed in a shop, because you don't know how old it is. Cheers & all the best! Alec Alchemist Garden Amsterdam

Great video! I noticed the head of your mixer moves a lot. You should look into something called the Everdime. It's a little bushing you can put into your machine that takes out that slop and can make your mixer last much longer. It super cheap and very easy to install.

I should have stated that white rice also contains lectins.
@DeborahBest
@DeborahBest Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, brown rice flour contains lectin, a form of a gluten protein. Unless the lectins have been removed altogether, it is not healthy for anyone to consume. As an FYI, Asians only cook with white rice as it contains no lectin. Is there another substitute to use?

You said FIVE TIMES MORE in half the time as the first video YT put at the top of the list. So I guess I'll look to see what other videos you have that are usefull. I went to four grocery stores looking for rice flour and no one had any except one had super expensive Bob's Red Mill and all I need it for is so my sourdough does not stick to the proofing basket.

That was the best butter making tutorial ever think you about? I've all been making butter in my kitchen aid, but I've never thought to do the Rensing in it. I've always done it by hand thank you so much which I haven't been doing it at high enough speed. I've been doing it lower speed. So it's been taking forever. And now I don't have to thank you.
