I have ridden there a bunch, it’s like a mosh pit and very chaotic. One of the most dangerous waves in the world very shallow. I have seen a lot of injuries some critical. Everyone that rides there gets injured at some point, including me. Either bouncing off the bottom on your head or ground across the bottom.

@Flanagan Frederic fair call. Runs a little different elsewhere. Deepest furthest out in the water gets the wave. Anyone further in gets left overs, with people skimming the last to get options

Not sure I understand what's going on here - the skimboarders start from shore and ride the small wave coming off the breaker to get out to the big one and their reward is getting pulverised by a bigger wave that has the characteristics of an industrial washing machine. Every time. Why?

@pabloff245 жыл бұрын
skimboard, search it
@harold92325 жыл бұрын
The guy times the flow of the backwash which is the wave that goes up the incline shore and then washes back,think there's a slight rebound off the pier that combines to create this wave that allows the skimboarder to ride towards the oncoming wave. Just before they meet,he can pick his line and enter the oncoming wave from a bit behind the peak and thus get nicely into the barrel. It saves paddling in and puts him in the sweet spot every time cos the two waves always meet and he just needs to find a good line for the barrel.
