I enjoyed listening to this conversation! Not the typical diet focused talk that Sally usually does but philosophy of why this approach to diet and lifestyle is important and meaningful. I think there is a real holisticness to Sally’s worldview

I forced myself to finish this just because I'm running out of Sally interviews and presentations. Again, struck by how she shines no matter the conditions!

My mom, born in 1931 in Germany, always said, fat is good for the lungs. She grew up with home made lard and butter. And yes, healthy teeth are a sign of good health like in the horse sale 😁 The Weston Price Foundation has my full approval. I love the philosophical approach of this interview. The "Eugenics" movement of the 19th century is important for understanding politics, even the actual one. Think about malthusianisme. But in reality it seems to be more deliberately "kakogenics"...Many thanks! 👏

You can often find lard in the grocery store with the Hispanic foods (manteca).

Read the lable. It has BHT and other horrible ingredients. Sadly it's not good. Sometimes they put seed oils in it. Look into fatworks lard. It's the best.

I hope organic, cold pressed sesame oil is good? Macrobioticians favors it.

That's an interesting point: could it be that seed oils, when properly prepared, are healthful?
@Sigridovski

@@finneranswake I don't know. I have used a lot of sesame oil for 40 years now and butter too, less meat than normal, no margarine and no adulterated oils. Since 5 or 10 years I also sometimes use cocnut oils. Seldom some organic olive oil. I think it is OK, and butter and lard is OK too, but who knows.

@@finneranswake OK. Try wash your hair with marseille soap, soak it in water first or even without to soak, rub the wet soap on your hair. See video with Dr. Eric Berg about hair. I use only marseille soap since over a year and nothing else. They make it also in Syria and in Turkey, see in arabic shops cheaply.

I respect this woman for teaching people about the importance of animal fats; however, she shouldn´t speak of subjects she hasn´t studied. Namely, Marxism and the Soviet kolhozniks (=collective farmers). They would buy AIRPLANES and TANKS during WW2 and give them to the Red Army as a gift/support. Bankrupt, my foot. What Sally is describing is not "the Marxist model". It´s classic capitalism. The largest capital is economically exploiting the smaller one with the help of the capitalist state which represents the interests of the largest capital. The big bourgeoisie is driving the petty bourgeoisie out of business. It´s called capitalist competition, nothing new about it. The Marxist model, as far as agriculture is concerned, is this: there are farmers, the actual producers of agricultural goods. They have large capital (corporations, banks, whatever) exploiting them. The Marxist model removes the exploiter and the farmers form an agricultural artel. They grow the produce and they sell some of it to the state (which under socialism consists of workers´ representatives) for a minimum price - minimum because the state gives them equipment, machinery, technical specialists, etc FOR FREE. So basically, the farmers grow the produce and the workers provide them with the means of production (tractors, combine harvesters, etc etc). It´s a fair exchange. The bigger part of the produce the farmers divide among themselves (according to labour, to how much each of them earned with his or her work) and sell it either at the market place, or to the state, or to producers´ cooperatives. But then counter-revolution began in the USSR in 1953 and the counter-revolutionaries started to systematically bankrupt the collective farmers. They cancelled the MTS (=machine tractor stations paid for and sustained by the state) and tricked the farmers into buying, repairing and replacing their machinery by themselves (previously the state did all of that, because only the whole of the proletarian state is capable of such expenses). Then they cancelled the core socialist principle on the farms - renumeration according to labour. They cancelled labour-days. A labour-day is not about time, it´s about the amount of work a person does. For example, ploughing X square meters equals X labour-days. My great grandma, a kolhoznik, was doing 500 labour-days a year. And had 5 children ;-) Instead of labour-days, "contra" introduced a fixed salary which was getting smaller and smaller and lagging behind the price of industrial goods from the city. "Contra" did other things as well, but these two were the main blows to the collective farms. The Marxist model got destroyed and the capitalist model got restored, step by step.

This might be the most erudite response yet posted in the comments section of Finneran's Wake. I thank you for that. And yes--we all must be mindful of ultracrepidarianism. I know I'm prone to speak far beyond my (admittedly narrow) scope of knowledge.

Those on board with marxism have some options: Venezuela, N.Korea, Russia, or how about Cuba. They’re only one step ahead. Maybe give solid examples of countries doing it the way this commenter states.
