These days, whenever Kidman is brought up, it's usually to comment about how scuffed his Shooting Star Press (it was pretty wonky), his weird WWE theme (I still like it) or that time he feuded with Hogan in the dying days of WCW. This series has really put a spotlight on how good he was in the WCW, he's constantly putting on great matches. I understand now why he got that feud with Hogan, I can imagine back in the day that he was one of the young guys that the fans wanted to be pushed into the main event after they got sick of seeing the same guys on top. It's sucks that is was done so poorly.

Ah, episodes like this reminds me of when Eric there said the reason that Nitro lost the war was they stopped doing what brought them to the top. They're at this point where they're losing in the ratings every week going forward from what I remember. And what's on the show? Basically the same things as ever. NWO. Run ins. Faction Betrayals. Incredible Cruiserweight matches that they'll never really hype up in favor of the Politics of Factions and such. WWF however, was very different from how they started and had changed from when they were losing. No more "Gang Warz", or Wrestling Plumbers. Or Slop Buckets. More DQ finishes admittedly, the whole "Mr. McMahon" character and feuds. DX. Etc.

Ya gotta love the predictable set up of the Dean vs. Bret match. Heel Bret does seem a bit more evil here. Like a salivating wolf with a tasty, injured prey in front of him after what he said he was going to do to Malenko’s leg.

Yeah this take stuff was uncomfortable way before the crucifixion. He literally wants to embalm a man alive for costing him a title....

Reliving all this, it seems like the only memorable things about Goldberg's title reign were 1. the night he won it, 2. his match with DDP, and 3. the night he lost it. Not a whole lot in between.

We are 5 weeks away for that special Raw involving Mick Foley and Tony Schiavone inadvertently getting Nitro viewers to storm on over to Raw. I can’t wait for that episode.

Was just thinking about it but can you imagine if wrestling bios kept track of match count and how they ended: Pin, Sub, TKO, & DQ... Oufta I bet it would get out of hand by '97

Is this the Nitro where Goldberg pulls off that PERFECT jackhammer on the Giant? Either this one or the next I'm pretty sure. It was the most perfectly executed jackhammer ever against the biggest guy there was. Credit to Giant too as he plays a big part in it coming off so well. Amazing feat of strength and control.
