There’s a lot that can/could be said about Owen Hart as a performer, and this series has highlighted a lot of things about Owen I didn’t know. I was a WCW mark back then so I tended to shun the WWF back then and I only popped in every now and again. Seeing his career highlighted here on RTW has seriously shown why he was one of the best in the business, and makes what happens next in the timeline even more tragic to me. While I know you and many others aren’t looking forward to this, I know that you are going to handle the whole thing with respect and care for the memory of Owen Hart. Owen would want his story told as it happened, so that people wouldn’t forget. It’s understandable why WWE will never show Over the Edge on the network but what happened, did happen, and it left an impact on the business itself in its wake. Let us all give this a watch with dedication to the memory of Owen Hart. He wasn’t a nugget. He was so much more. Edit: I wasn’t aware that Over the Edge was available on WWE network until seeing the video for it. However terrible it is, I think it’s very dishonorable of WWE to basically treat Owen as a wrestler who left for another company when showing this show by erasing Jarrett’s comments, Road Dogg’s pre promo comments, or Rock’s comments during his match. Again, I don’t understand why WWE doesn’t treat Owen with more love and respect even 25 years after his passing. I feel that he deserved so much more.

As tragic as the Owen thing is, I personally don't find seeing Macho Man the way he looks in this video much easier, either. Two times the size he was in the WWF, three times the size he was in the 1970s, and with a beet-red head as if he could explode from hypertension at any second. Look at him here in 1999 and tell me you're _surprised_ he didn't make it to 60... I get that the circumstances of Owen's death make it feel more _immediate,_ for a lack of a better term - but we're looking at human beings who died way too young because of what the wrestling business is and what it does to people in various ways, every week. And some of them we don't even know about at all. Emiko Kado died as the direct result of something that happened in the ring, the month before Owen. She got hit in the head and died in the hospital, nine days later. The same month Rick Rude died while trying to get back into "ring shape", whatever _that_ meant in the '90s, apparently trying to get "cut" with GHB. I don't know even know where I'm going with this. The last week has just made it so clear again what a disgusting, filthy cesspool and bone mill pro wrestling is - and that almost nothing is better in it now than it used to be 25 years or 40 years ago.

The culture of the industry was/is toxic and definitely contributed to a lot of self destructive habits without a doubt. So many people struggling with addictions and health issues brought on by their involvement that cut their lives short. While Owen’s death was an avoidable accident so was Macho’s eventual decline, Rick Rude’s health rapidly deteriorating, Scot Hall’s alcoholism destroying his life, etc. It’s sad to see

I would normally not watch Over the Edge, when I went back and checked everything the WWF had to offer, I skipped this and the memorial show because it is tough after sitting through all of Owen's WWF career (and some outside stuff too). But, I think that with your commentary over this, it might be the right time to look at this... once. It's just like the Pillman stuff, I don't want to see or talk about people's deaths, but again, this is an exception because RTW has been such an amazing series. If I had the money, I'd definitely buy a shirt to donate, it sucks that I'm a bit tight right now though...
