It's a funny one. I'm 46 and grew up with them two on a Saturday morning in the UK. They were the best of the best and never beaten. That goes for so many around my age who grew up on them. Then you had the JR and King combo where that gen says they were the best. Both superb combos but if you were of that era. Bobby and Gorilla on Prime Time. The ep after Bobby was beaten by Warrior. He spent the whole ep picking up the desk phone because he could hear non stop ringing. Bobby - Can you hear that? *Picks up the phone. "Hello, hello?" Monsoon - WILL YOU STOP. Golden era.

And the burn on Tony later that night was priceless. Heenan is pretty easy to read and you can tell when he’s just working as a heel. He’s got that little look in his eye. That was not a work. You can see the look of contempt on his face when he said that.

From what I've heard from both of them, Tony and Bobby got along fairly well during the Nitro run. It was after that Bobby felt hurt by Tony not keeping in touch, which Tony acknowledged and said he regretted badly and wished he could go back in time to correct it. Truly though, no one but them will ever truly know. I know I hate it given how much both meant to me during that time of my life.

I believe on his podcast that Tony said someone told him they were removing Bobby from Nitro before they told Bobby. Tony had a conversation with Bobby afterwards and didn't say anything about the pending change which Bobby STILL didn't know about, and when Bobby found out later, he wanted nothing to do with Tony. Tony said that he made a big mistake by not telling Bobby, management be damned, and that he understood why Bobby held a grudge.

Smackdown started off with a tag match. And I know how the X-Pac and Kane relationship ends, but it's interesting to see how it has built up to the ending. I can see why X-Pac turned but I can see why he is a heel too. But I am liking the built up. I have been enjoying the Rock n Sock segments. The Rock is gold and Mankind plays off him so well. The Hardcore and Road Dogg match was ok, but it was a nice setup to their match at No Mercy. But it's crazy to see how over the Outlaws are. The tag match between the Hardyz and Edge & Christian was a good one. It's nice to see new tag teams get a chance to shine and they are impressing the crowds by doing new things that haven't been done before. And they are making it must see TV. Jeff Jarrett had a mud wrestling contest and it was a throw away segment. It would be perfect for the teenage me, but the older me was just so tired of hearing King going crazy about seeing the puppies. It made it so hard to deal with it. And just make it a chore to get threw it. The Bulldog and Mankind match seemed like a throw away too. Cause the rules weren't stated. Cause they used weapons but no dq? Then a ref bump like it mattered. Then they brawled in the crowd and it was a no contest cause I don't know who won. But Mankind did make Bulldog look good with all his bumps. Mankind go 100 percent all the time and sometimes I think he needs to take a night off lol. The Big show Bossman match ended in a dq as well. And it didn't do anything for me. The main event of the night was Rock vs Val. And we all knew who was going to win, buy it was good to see Val get some offense in but other than that a predictable match. At the end of it the cracks of the Rock n Sock connection seem to form here I wonder how much longer they will have together. Thunder started off with Dean facing off against Blitzkrieg and it was a nice opener. Both guys are hard workers and they put on a good solid match to start thunder. The Cruiserweight title was on the line next and one I don't think Lenny should of been stripped. If you wanted it off him. Let him at least lose it, also I'm not a fan of Disco winning it. I feel like there are so many talented guys who could of used the belt. But Disco but the title on the line against Evan Karagias And it was ok, after the first match it didn't match up to it in my eyes. But it was solid for a Disco match. There was a Berlin segment with Brad Armstrong and it seems kinda pointless and out of no where, now if it leads to a feud great but if nothing comes from it disappointing. Than Brad had a match against Chris Adams. And not gonna lie. I wasn't interested. I got distracted by others things and this match didn't hold my attention. It was ok, but just didn't do anything for me. Benoit put the TV title on the line against Knobs and my first thought was why? It was how you thought it would go. It turned into a Hardcoreish match not sure when that happened. They might of said it but I missed it. But Benoit won of course. Silver King and Lash faced off and it was good to see different wrestlers. And it was a solid match but nothing too eye popping. So 2 of the most interactive gimmicks on thunder the Maestro vs Dale Toroborg or MVP. Very different gimmicks feeling more like new generation wrestlers. But the match was just to get Dale over. But he was getting beat for 90 percent of the match and then at the end pulled out the win. It was a nothing match. Filthy Animals vs Disorderly Conduct. This was the same as the last the Filthy animals took a beating for 90% of the match than at the end won it. Not much other than that. And the main event was for the US title Sid vs Stevie Ray. Well if you have seen any Sid match recently with Charles Robinson and Rick Steiner. They got involved and it ended exactly how you thought it went. So overall Smackdown had a better show. But not much better. They had a few predictable matches but the storylines, with the tag team, X-Pac/Kane stuff and the Rock n Sock stuff was all good. Thunder started off strong with a few good matches but most of them were predictable. You knew who won every match before it started other than maybe 2 of them. But I did like that there was 3 titles on the line, which we don't see very often on TV. So that was a positive for thunder.
