Dance _move_ - singular. He has one move. That he does over and over and over... Alex was more limited as a dancer than Kevin Nash was as a wrestler. Even Disco Inferno was a better dancer because he had _two_ moves - and he could do one of them while standing on the middle rope. That's technically two and a half moves... I think I just said something positive about Disco Inferno - I'll slap myself for it!

For anyone wondering who the first planned black WWF champion was supposed to be, there's a story that it was Tony Atlas around 1983. Apparently Vince, who was heavy into body building and physique's was looking to grow his brand, and had this image of a man who looked like a greek god, with his belt around that waist as the face of the company. Tony was the guy he found, and was brought in, and groomed to be champion. But Tony didn't get it, and was soon released. Rocky Johnson was called upon to do some of the things planned for Tony, and Rocky asked him about the plans. When told he was planned to be champion one day, Rocky replied with "A black champion?" And Vince was like "Yeah." and started to think about it. "We never had a black champion... we never had black champions... Hey, if I were to get Tony back, could I team him up with you? We'll give you two a title run, and you can take him under your wing and show him the ropes?" That happened, and even with Rocky trying to teach him, Tony would no show house shows, autograph appearances, and training time that Rocky would set up. In the end, they had to let Tony go as he wasn't improving in the ring, and didn't seem to have a desire to do so. There's an interview floating around with Rocky Johnson where he talks about this.

That's pretty interesting, very interesting actually. Vince was looking to put the belt on a guy that wasn't white, way back in '83. That's pretty progressive, especially for Vince, and even more so since it was back then. Imagine how many more superstars that aren't white, that we could've had in the years since then, if that had actually happened. I'll have to look for that interview.

They were already foreshadowing Rock joining the Nation? Haven’t seen full episodes of Raw in ‘97 aside from a number of clips here and there. Very interesting transition period from the New Generation to the Attitude Era.

They still had some of that residual good Smoky Mountain energy left. The first, last, and only time she was ever booked to the fullest of her potential as a ringside manager and promo. Tammy's best work happened before she ever became a star on a national level. Nothing she did in the WWF and after that, was ever anywhere near as good. Pills and booze weren't an issue then, either. A little later he became the only member of the office who could still rein her in and keep her attitude in check, because she basically owed her entire career to him - and knew from experience what happened when you annoyed him too much. He even protected her from getting fired because she embezzled money from the WWF with $80 hotel breakfast receipts and other fake road expenses. She basically kept Candido fed by falsely declaring his food as her road expenses while doing promo appearances for the company. Cornette even helped her get gigs on the convention circuit in later years, when she had already become almost unemployable for mainstream promotions. He was basically one of the very last people who still tried to help her when he had an opportunity to do so, until he finally disowned her this year when she killed that poor guy in Florida. The IWC always goes on and on about how relentlessly Cornette "hates" people, but very few people ever mention that he is loyal to a fault to his friends. He flat out refused to do a review of Flair's "Last Match" because he would have had to say some very harsh things about a person who was very important for his career - or compromise his integrity as a reviewer and wrestling historian. It took Tammy Sytch killing someone, for him to finally give up and wash his hands clean off her.

WWF was so entertaining at this time before all the superstars became catch phrase machines.

It's kind of a shame we never got a proper Shawn Michaels vs Steve Austin match. The match at King of the Ring 1997 was thrown together. Although the match was very underrated and very good. And the WrestleMania 14 match was a let down only becasue Shawn's back was injured and Steve was still recovering from his neck injury. It just makes me think what type of classic we would of gotten from both men if they were healthy at WrestleMania 14.

I think that peak Shawn vs peak Austin would been better than Austin vs Bret.

I think it was a good idea to have Austin versus Shawn Michaels at wrestlemania 14 I don't think Austin versus Bret Hart would have had that same impact to launch the attitude era into the next phase
