Jim. I own the Daiwa SV TW 70 and the SV TW80. By far the best baitcasting reel for power finesse. Extreme smoothness and quiet yet also powerful for landiing big ass Bass. On BFS reels, the drag click on the Ark Gravity BFS reel by far is great and does help with how much drag is needed much like an audible alarm. I love the drag clicking but also fancy.

@@pequenioedgarito3067 Daiwa is amazing with their reels. What weight ranges are u using for those two reels?
@pequenioedgarito3067Ай бұрын
@ on Daiwa: 1/8 ounce or sometimes a 4 inch unweighted Senko. Other times a 1/8 keitech jig with 2.8 inch seimbait. On the Ark: mule, fishing jigs with 1/16 ounce mule fishing jig with Donkey Tail Jr.

Hey Jimbo, Great Review !!! TW-80 (w/BFS spool), Alphas 800-S (factory shallow spool), & Salamandura SV TW 70... I own all three and that's directly related to your reviews/tests !! I added a drag clicker alarm to the TW-80, & the 800-S, of course the Salamandura has a factory clicker !! I couldn't be happier with my selections. the TW-80 is on a Phenix Feather 7' 1" FTX-71L (light) rod, the 800-S is on a Fenwick Elite Bass 6' 10" m/l rod, and the Salamandura is on a Fenwick Techna PX 6' 10" m/l rod. these 3 combos offer a lot more versatility than one might think !! Anyways, keep up the Great Work !! And Thanks !! for all the insight !!!

Good video, been excited for this one! I would say a few years ago I would have preferred drag clickers but now that Im extremely comfortable with baitcasters I think on lite applications I would take drag clicks but anything but bfs I think no drag clicks, appreciate your videos man!
@rawrfishing8 ай бұрын
Thx man! I think some folks are moving towards less clicker for the non UL/L side like me! We shall see. So far some of the seasoned bfs anglers are the same way. Some still want it. Some want it on everything lol. That said, it tough to be a company and cater to everyone!

Great video. Very informative. I would like to add that even if they appear to be based on the same frame they are not. One is TATULA 70 and the other is Alphas 800. That’s why the spool shaft configuration is different. Personally, the benefits from one vs the other in a bait finesse situation are marginal at best. All my reels are equipped with drag alarms so it’s a no brainer for me, plus with money you save you can get an aftermarket spool and still have money leftover for buying some baits. To click or not to click. That is the question…🧐

Nice comparison and education to help people make an educated buying decision. I myself prefer Shimano BFS reels for hooking into decent 5-7LB FL Bucketmouth's and they have smooth clicking drag systems. I personally get jacked up when that clicker smoothly buzzes as those bigger Bass make runs and I love it. I do think if I were to get a Daiwa reel I would prefer the Tatula BFS BF70 however I would want a clicker, also realizing it is a personal choice.

Needs a drag clicker on the Daiwa Tatula BFS 70. I want a Saltist 70 then just get an after market spool for BFS, probably be a good ideal and more bulletproof than both the reels in this video.

Thanks for showing the detailed difference in the inductor position. I wonder how the Tatula SV 70 compares with the Salamandura SV 70 inductor position? I also feel my Salamandura 70 blow up easily but I don't have the Tatula 70 to compare to. Another great video man!

I would go with Salamandura and I like the drag clicker. When I BFS I tend to go UL. I rarely cast anything over 1/8. I tend to stick to 1/16 and under. If I am fishing with lures or setups over 1/8 I tend to use any kind of bait caster. I agree with you on the uses for the clicker on the Salamandura. When I am using light line and lures I like the drag clicker feedback so I can finesse/fight the fish better ran than crank/winch the fish in with a non BFS reel. It just comes down to what style or mood you want to fish.

Kastking originally didn't give the drag clicker to the zephyr without my intervention. At that time, hundreds of silent reels were available. So they offered both until no more silent zephyr were available.

Traditional bass fishing baitcasters don't have drag clicking, so to me it is its weird to desire that on a baitcaster. I think quiet is better. Spinning reels do, and if bfs wants to borrow the fishing style from bass baitcasters then it shouldn't have drag clicking. If you like drag clicking then pick up a spinning reel.

I love the Tatula BF 70! Won't be using it for the UL stuff like in trout streams, so I am happy with out it. But we can't tell ppl go for a spinning setup.
