I can't wait for one too. When I first started... My cast testing sessions were trial and error. I now have a process and it can made consistent for all my tests and will yield better results :)

@@rawrfishing I will tell you a good one on me. I was thinking ok I will buy a Gomexus handle for my Gekkibijin and trick it out a little. I soon found out really fast that Diawa makes these reels perfect out of the box.

@@rougaroux2359 honestly, the gekka and alphas air fit my fishing needs out of the box. Roro spool and bearing can make it better for some of my super UL stuff.. But I rarely go that low.

I don't know. I wasn't too keen on buying an expensive CDM reel. If it was half the price.. Sure... I would give it a shot. At that price.. Japanese reels all the way. Especially when Yen is down.

Sure! It's the same body as the alphas air tw. So you can technically buy the gekkabijin parts and put it in

I have not tried any upgrades to this reel, but I would think that the Roro spool could do it with the upgraded bearings.

It's essentially the rebranded alphas air tw. I honestly don't remember doing much casting of 0.5 grams in the past with the reel. It's not a weight I really use. The Ark Gravity bfs reel does it right out of the box, no upgrades!

@@rawrfishing Yes, the SS air. Mainly because it’s not very great for stream fishing. Mostly a bass bfs reel (good for skipping and whatnot). I want to sell it and put the money towards a better stream reel.

Not uncommon to rebrand reels for another country. not sure if this was their best rename choice. But it's an amazing reel and I am happy to see that folks in the US can now enjoy the amazing bfs reel from Daiwa. One of my fav

No effort from Daiwa…..weren’t all previous pixy’s magnesium framed reels with nice color schemes…just buy alphas from overseas and save bunch of money

People need to keep In mind... Pixy died already. End of story! This rebrand, whether you like it or not, it's here and could possibly be the spark to bring pixy back at different size spools! I am sure Effort were made that you are just not aware of! But while yen is down, do as you like! I urge folks to try JDM stuff all the time if they are global shoppers! For me, I'm going to stay positive here and give Daiwa USA love and show that we want more! Tight lines

@@rawrfishing Effort was made in 2020 when they released alphas air tw. Don’t see much effort here, same reel brought to USA 4 years later. I’m glad they did don’t get me wrong but it’s hard to get excited about these “new” reels. They need to stop treating USA as afterthought when it comes to BFS and give us an actual new releases.

You can't blame a company for rebranding an existing successful reel to test the market in another country. This is their homework, so effort is being made elsewhere! Might be behind schedule of what we want it, but I am happy they are here and I'll do anything and everything to ensure it stay by growing it! This is the age of global market. I am okay for them not to bring over every new item over to the US. I can just buy it over seas while yen is down.
