The first thing you want to do before buying coilovers is to first know what you're getting into. Expensive coilovers may be direct bolt on where as budget friendly coilovers will more than likely require some adjustments. Here is all the headaches and pain I had to go through in order to make these coilovers work.

Also you could add rubber sheet / slab to the top of the coilover (make some holes for the nuts to go through) and add it below the tower on tip of the coilover to act as a cushion if you will. Also could add some rubber between the springs and the rest of the system.

I installed some on my mustang and I use the spot you used to set load to adjust height do you think I should tighten that as much as I can by hand (without the tool) and use the bottom to adjust height?
@Rawrkee
@Rawrkee 3 жыл бұрын
the purpose of setting load is so you won't put too much strain on one of the coilovers more than the other. Yeah, you can do it by hand, you just want them both to be pretty similar and so using the tool to tighten it even further by 2-4mm will be very effective. Once you have the load set, don't ever touch it again and just use the bottom one for ride height.

As long as you get them installed properly and make sure the top nuts are tightened securely, they'll ride great. If it's making creaking noises when you turn, then carefully disassemble them and apply some grease to the pill joints underneath the top nut.

@NaeroK87
@NaeroK87 3 жыл бұрын
@@E-1stYT keyword is most, there was nothing in the box that states you have to grease everything. Someone who is new with coilovers isn’t going to know to grease them before installing them.
@E-1stYT
@E-1stYT 3 жыл бұрын
@Brian then they shouldn't be installing coilovers in the first place and get a shop to do it... everyone should know that if they are improperly put on they can fail... now I understand your point but they should have done some research there's plenty of info out there. if so its like if someone was to go blind into a timing belt change... they also do state on their site they advise someone to fit them I think they might state it in the pamphlet as well but ill have to look maybe it's just warranty or something... from a good look they are pretty good quality and made (to what I can see in my garage) pretty well. Only time will tell I guess. I wouldn't recommend going low on them for safety reason from the strain on camber arms and whatnot but for a daily road use they seem fine. Preferably I'd be adding rubber to the top and also thicker rubbers between spots for comfort and protection.
@NaeroK87
@NaeroK87 3 жыл бұрын
@@E-1stYT yeah you’re right I should’ve done my research before buying these cause there are so many negative reviews, they’re $250-300 for a good reason. Greasing them still wouldn’t solve the insane bouncing over the smallest bumps.

@E-1stYT 3 жыл бұрын
@@NaeroK87 no but small / more amounts of rubber slabes / plates will. Also depends on the spring.the grease wouldn't only provide lube but also Protection and water resistance. Again they are pretty good for the price just have to do some minor mods maybe.

I can't compare because I haven't had any other coilovers besides the Tein coilovers on my prelude but those are super old. Maxpeeding coilovers are meant for racing applications and to my understanding, the spring rate is pretty high, as in, stiff. So it'll be very bumpy compared to coilovers that are meant for daily driving but in my opinion, I don't think the ride quality is bad at all. Just don't expect to ride smoothly like OEM

I wasted my money on these. They do not have a rubber cushion by the springs. Making them noisy when turning or going over a bump.. They leaked, the front bolt holes did not match the knuckle as ordered for my car. After asking for a return with PayPal, the manufacturer agreed to a refund when returned to China. The shipping would have been more than what I paid. Do not buy these. I went with K2 k-tuned setup for my Si sedan and am very happy with it.

Try turning it all counterclockwise no more than 30 clicks I believe. If it’s more than 30, go the other direction. What you’re trying to do is to reset the stiffness. Once you twist it to where it can’t spin anymore. Go the other direction 15 times. That will set your stiffness to 0. From there, you either go 15 clockwise or counter clockwise. U want to stay within a 30 click range. If you go further, you can damage the coilovers
