Amazing guide man... I've played this game intermittently since it was released (always been more of a D2 guy) and this makes everything so clear. The wording is a little misleading on the cube so a lot of the recipes I just never even bothered to try. Looks like it's super easy to roll an alternate character and get a set going in no time. Your channel is incredibly underrated, and is an absolute goldmine for anyone trying to understand some of the more in-depth mechanics of this game.

Namely the cow level xp cauldron trick. I had no idea it has two guaranteed spawns! Also the early augments and the relation to paragon levels is very insightful. Reforge legendary (recipe 2) is very useful for hard to obtain items, if item has either: 1) wrong stat bonus (e.g. if it's obtained by another class) 2) reforged something already and it's wrong now (maybe you are changing a build or playing another class) 3) has poor/wrong rolls and it's a secondary item, which you are trying to make better of one you are wearing currently.

Note: Making lvl 1 items with gem of ease was mainly made for hardcore players so they can have a starter set at level 1 in case they die and have to remake their char.

i just started playing again.. it's been years. i think the last time i played was season 3. You had this video up before, IDK if this is a reupload or you just decided to do another one or what, but the original one you had helped a lot. I had no idea about the cube lol. I don't really play much, as I'm only level 800 or so paragon and I died awhile back so I had to start my wizard over again. :S I think the gem of ease recipe is useful for hc players to have leveling gear just in case. ya know what i mean. I've always liked to have a leveling set for hc characters ever since i started playing that mode in the .09 patch of diablo 2. cuz ya know you're high level gear won't even matter it you can't get back up to use them. the leveling gear just makes that a non-issue. Diablo 3 is a much different game though, it's just about speed i guess.. leveling up isn't as difficult as getting through hell mode on a fresh character on diablo 2.

If you want to add 5 levels to a gem, with 100% chance on each roll, run a GR that is 14 levels higher than the gem's current level. Ex: To add 5 levels to a level 30 Pain Enhancer, empower and run a GR 44. Running anything higher than that it's a waste of your time, unless your character is already so strong that the GR difficulty doesn't even slow you down.

Rax really got something interesting. Here is what I learned here. I know I can buy white items. I tried a lot of time from the merchant dude close to the cube. Recipe 5 is for people who don't play groups. There is a large "Solo Self Found" community for this game, and the only way to level a character when you can't join a party is to do it yourself. Using Recipe 5 to get some extra level 70 items, especially experience gear, on your brand new characters is a way to make the leveling process quicker and less annoying so that you can get to the real content.

When you remove the level requirement don't leave your (e.g.) green gem in the weapon or piece of armor. also if you have the socket on the weapon make another gem of ease and get that till like level 60 and socket it for heaps of bonus experience per kill. But like you said if you have a friend to power level you, you don't really need it.

My favorite challenge was one that I failed but I will likely revisit. Level 1-70 on hardcore on T6 difficulty with a necromancer (squishiest class) without the assistance of anything, just have to play the game and take what it gives you. Got to level 37 before I died to a skeleton I had already killed who came back to life because I was in the graveyard while I wasn't looking (apparently they can come back to life in the graveyard)

Do you augment all your items with whatever gem level you can get quickly, then work on the next round of augments, a few levels higher, and so on? Or do you spend the extra time in the first round to get the gems to a "as high as possible" level? So let's say I can do GR 90 in 2 min, but GR 110 in 8 min. Do I fully augment my char with lvl 80 gems first, then hopefully be able to do GR 110 in 4 min and work on a new round of augments with lvl 100 gems? Or do I spend the extra time the first time around to augment my gems to lvl 100 (quickly up to 80, then slowly to 100)? Also, do you think it's worthwhile to stay at a GR level = Gem level + 10, that give you 100% chance but take longer to do? Or should I do lower GR levels quicker, but for only eg 60% chance?

1. You should get them as high as possible without going overboard. Every level on an augment is an extra paragon level, so its worth it. 2. Upgrading at 60% chance is perfectly fine, I upgrade at that level but I don't upgrade at 30%

i love the lvl 1 requirement recipe. i have Self PL gears decked with exp points and i Self PL from 1-70 in cow level with ease. i play solo a lot and this season have been unkind to me. for some reason i have 15 deaths due to DC and the gears are a god sent. and it feel really nice to PL myself. different feeling than just sitting in an entrance.

Thanks for the guide! The mats recipe always had me confused! The thing about augmenting is getting gems to rank 100 in the first place. It's the second season that I play and I'm yet again stuck at the same level. I can do GR85 quite comfortably, but can't really push much higher since I have no luck at all with ancient items (I only have 3 atm). Running a couple 100 GR's without getting an upgrade is so frustrating. Maybe I'll have to change to group play or just start to upgrade rare items in Cube more

Group play definitely helps with going higher. And once you get more ancients you'll be a lot stronger. Keep going my friend!

@@Raxxanterax Thanks for the advice. It's weird since a new ancient dropped for me yesterday and I could already feel slightly more powerfull. If I can do a GR90 in about 4 minutes, I just look for groups to run 90's quicker? Or go for higher GRs?

With a good group comp you’ll be able to do higher, faster and you get more Xp for playing in groups :)

Hi Raxx. I'm pretty sure you can upgrade a polearm from a Wizard character into Bovine Bardiche as well. Unless I am misremembering I did it in season 20 on my Wiz main to powerlevel a WD alt. Didn't have a Crus or Barb created.

You're right Rafe, you can, but you always want to do it on a crusader because they have the best odds (33% chance) of any class. The other classes have more polearms they can acquire which makes them non ideal to use this recipe with

Hi Raxx, I have a question, at what gem level would you recommend start augmenting the gear with caldesann? I am farming Grifts 100 and augmenting for 101-102, is that ok or I just try to go higher in the tier of the gems? Thanks! And good job with the content!
