"If it's designed, there must be a designer." Interesting that he brought that up because that's a cavendish banana and you most certainly won't find it growing on any wild banana tree. Wild bananas are often small, starchy, and filled with big hard seeds that take up most of the space. That is to say, they could hardly be described as being "intelligently designed" at all. This same concept applies to essentially all of the produce we eat today, with wild counterparts being far less ideal for consumption than we'd expect. Perhaps the bananas we eat are so perfect for human consumption because they were actually designed by humans.

I'd argue that there are many parts of the world that are very hostile environments to live in (or are entirely uninhabitable) and that 75% of the Earth is covered in salt water which does not support human life at all. If anything, it's humans who are well adapted to the various environments of the Earth, but even then, some are simply too extreme. You'd think a planet designed just for us by an intelligent creator would allow for a much greater area for us to settle. What good is making a planet just for humans if you make it so most of the planet is uninhabitable? I won't accept any "God works in mysterious ways and did it to push us to explore" nonsense.

We have microbes and pathogens which can consume our flesh. There are more parasites on earth than any other type of creature. There's literally a species of maggot that lays its eggs on a mosquito, so when the mosquito drinks human blood, the maggot can burrow under human skin and turn into a big boil and then hatch out as a fly. We already know evolution exists - otherwise you couldn't have chihuahuas and great danes and bulldogs and whatever else. You wouldn't need a flu shot, and there would be fewer colors and patterns of flowers. Selective breeding exists. So why don't the rules apply to us?

The pulpy fruit allowed for simple nutrients as the seed took root. The modern banana does not have seeds. Which produces reproduction problems, resulting in tuber propagation being the only viable means of continuing the species.

@Mighty Raccoon Charles Darwin basically states that natural selection seems like a very far-fetched explanation for the existence of the complex human eye (which is in no way perfect, despite whatever some humans believe), at least for the time when he wrote "On The Origin of Species". HOWEVER, if a multitude of minute changes happens to a primitive form of an eye throughout several generations, which are also beneficial in relation to the environment in which these particular animals live wherein these mutations take place, then the theory of natural selection doesn´t seem so far-fetched after all. TL;DR: The explanation that a simple and primitive eye might change into a complex eye could seem quite plausible when taking into account the many generations necessary, especially compared to if such a change were to happen "overnight".

Truth. The 'admittance' of Darwin not being able to explain the eye is a cherry-pick if I ever saw one. If they wanted to point to a difficulty, they could point to a peacock's hindering tail, or a toucan's unnecessarily large beak. Of course, these constitute design flaws, impossible by a perfect creator, but have come to be explained by the phenomenon of sexual selection. The theists are trapped both ways lol.
