On a side note, I love Ray's face when Gordon tried the tartlet. It looks as if he's saying, "Please say you like it! Please say you like it!"

@katanaburner yeah. he seems like a great guy. I did a quick search and found out he suffers from parkinson's disease. my best regards to him and his family, I really enjoy this series and admire the work here as well as the tremendous research in the field of archaeobotany/paleoethnobotany. peace out homeboys!

I'm wondering if Gordon was feeling okay. His head moves a lot when he's talking. He seems like such a nice fellow. I hope he's okay.

One thing that has struck me this whole series is how unbothered these guys seem to be by ashes. They just cover all of their food in ashes without any attempt to cook in such a way as to avoid them. I don't get it.
@vincezhu13348 жыл бұрын
Grima Wormtongue you are not alone. The burned ashes might cause cancer and I do hope they are fine
@spurnthemuse8 жыл бұрын
Their food is all tarnished with ashes, and soot.

Ashes is the cleanest thing on earth. Why would you bother about it?
@vincezhu13348 жыл бұрын
BAN1102 Cleanest? You sure? Anyway it's the carcinogen from the burnt material that bothers me, coz it causes cancer.

Do you eat French fries, microwave popocorn or refined sugar? Those things are the dangerous ones.

To quote another great survival teacher whose name unfortunately escapes me "I'm always amazed that some people can wear the same underwear 24 days in a row but whine about getting a little ash on their food" ash is completely sterile and isn't harmful in any way and unless you're being careless not very much of the meat is wasted at all. It is a direct and clean way of cooking when you put something strait in the fire though for some items i will allow using a wrapping of some kind such ad leaves will improve the flavor as well as protect the food.
