Hey, my dad was the drummer on this record! His name was Bob Emerson, and he worked with Ray Price for about 2 years or so. He always spoke very highly of Mr. Price as a performer and as a person.

Man it's a good day when we get Ray Price and George Jones on the same day. Thank you Penny and Phyllis, I so appreciate this, if you had left it with Aaron's version that would have been fine. At least a great Kristofferson song would have been reacted to. However hearing Ray's version is special. He was one of my Mom's favorites. Although she preferred this older Ray and the 'Nashville Sound'. It wasn't until I began to really get into country music on my own that I discovered Ray took over Hank Sr.'s Drifting Cowboy Band and renamed the The Cherokee Cowboys and did some really great Honky-Tonk style country in 50's and early 60's. My Pop-pop raised me on old country music.. this will always bring me back to my Pop-pop.. don't mess with old country music.. Elvis does a great rendition too.. Kris Kristofferson wrote this one too.. He is wrote so many great songs.

Man Aaron, is great on it but Ray, is just so smooth and has a great voice and the song sounds great taking nothing from Aaron, he did it more than justice when he sang it, but original version of Ray, is great. Thanks for the request and reaction by you Don of course. Hey Don, I would like to request a song by Martina McBride, doing a cover of a Tammy's, song "UNTIL I CAN MAKE IT ON MY OWN" live at the Grand Ole Opry, it's a great cover I believe you will enjoy listening to it. Talked about it on the other version you did - it's over Don, everyone knows it's over, they just grabbin another "moment" before all the dominoes start falling (been over for years, they're just now gonna make it official)!! The one you did that grabbed me the hardest was "Goodbye Time" by Conway Twitty.

This was a time before there weren't much videos out there. Aaron video and voice was awesome. This was a hit for Ray Price so he needed to be acknowledged He was #1 with song and you had not done his version . Kris Kristofferson was a awesome songwriter no matter who sang it but Ray price is a classic with hit and #1 . If I decide to do the other country song Aaron has out there George Jones Grand tour I believe you reacted to George singing it so he is already acknowledged .Can not forget the greats I grew up with though I love Aarons voice.

You should listen to the studio version. Perfection. Ray took a lot of flack for this song because he went from honky tonk to strings. But he was great no matter what style he sang, and fans loved it. Try I Won’t Mention It Again. Dean Martin also had a great version.
