Limp Bizkit, Korn, System of a Down, Deftones, Disturbed, Seether, Breaking Benjamin, Mudvayne, Flaw, Static-X... you can say what you want but Nu Metal is iconic. I'm a self-confessed fan of Nu Metal!

Nu metal passed away long time ago dude those bands doesn't sell what they used to be even some of them don't exist anymore. the only one it's Slipknot still kicking out.

@@aceitaliano88oh yeah. I thought I wrote Slipknot but I forgot kakaka
@t.b.m.b.7 ай бұрын
@@Dani-x01you are a little mistaken. Deftones was recently nominated for two Grammys for Ohms, Disturbed is a huge success, Korn is still very active, also with a Grammy nomination a few years ago for Rotting in Vain. There is no longer a boom, that normal explosion of thousands of bands being released every minute. It's cyclical. However, even those Nu Metal bands that were left behind are still well remembered, they remain in history, they made an era.
@t.b.m.b.7 ай бұрын
@@Dani-x01what's more, several of these current successful metalcore bands swim a lot in the beats and riffs of Nu Metal, with many admitting that they are really inspired by the genre.

Limp Bizkit is Limp Bizkit, there is absolutely no mistaking their sound. They are one of those bands that formulated their own unique sound. I'll never forget the first time I saw or even heard of them. I was at my mom and dad's watching MTV Spring Break back in '98 and they played Counterfeit for some kind of Spring Break swimsuit fashion show, and I remember my very first reaction was 'who and what in the fuck is this?'. To be honest, my knee jerk reaction to them, I was a little put off for whatever reason. I can't really put my finger on why I was put off initially, but then by the end of the song I was like 'damn, ok'. They grew on me super-fast for sure.

Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water is one of the best sellers of the 2000's but yet posers bash on the band for no reason. Have they ever took themselves seriously ?? Nop but were they talented musicians making catchy music?? Hell yes and let's not forget in there prime nothing or anyone was remotly close to the control that guy had on a crowd and the level of energy he was able to infuse to them.

I don't know if 1999 is too early for your 2000s list, but if you can squeeze it in try Kid Rock's "Bawitaba." Drop all preconceptions you might have about Kid Rock. This one is in the same genre, Nu Metal, as Limp Bizkit. And it is one of the rockinest songs of all time. It hits a level of power seldom seen.
