Rayman Origins: Picture City Mod

It's Picture City! ... sort of. I started this mod back in August, then shelved it for a couple of months due to illness. Yes, I know it's garbage, but it was my first attempt at level modding and I was pretty much learning as I went along.
Most of the stuff here was drawn with Paint Tool SAI, except for the flowers, which were origami. The wool balls, rulers, pens, etc.
were scanned in and then cut out in GIMP.
Despite multiple attempts at resizing and redrawing various
pieces of scenery, this mod still looks a bit rough around the edges in places - some of the landscape textures don't align properly and some sprites got their edges cut off. :(
The Nymph in this mod is called Imogen Ayshen, one of my own characters. There's also a cameo from a ridiculously small Space Mama (who's apparently a vegan).
**NOTE**
The graphics occasionally glitch up on the Hunter-Gatherer and
Playing in the Shade levels when this mod's running. I can't tell if this is an issue withTexmod, the game, or the mod. The only fix I've been able to find for this is to close the game and Texmod, then restart them.
HOW TO RUN MODS
---------------------------------
To run the mod files you need a program called Texmod, which you can download from here: code.google.com/archive/p/tex... (select the texmod zip file at the bottom of the list).
1. Open Texmod and click the large yellow folder icon in the top left corner. Select "Rayman Origins.exe" (usually found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Rayman Origins\).
2. Select Package Mode in Texmod, then select the mod (.tpf file) by clicking the small yellow file icon to the right.
3. Click "Run" and the game should load with the selected mods.
4. Enjoy! :)

Awesome. Now I wish someone makes mod of Rayman Origins with all Rayman 1 worlds and edited level design to be similar like in R1 :D

Thank you! :) It would be great to see a Rayman 1 Band Land mod, or a Candy Chateau one - I was disappointed Candy Land never made it into Origins. :( I thought about doing a Candy Chateau mod once, but don't know if I'll ever get round to starting it.

I hope so, but it won't be for quite a while. My health isn't very good and level mods require a lot of work - the Picture City mod needed around 350 texture edits. If I do start work on another mod, it'll probably be the Candy Land one.

Amazing Rushil Thanks for your comment, it really means a lot to me. :) The mod I'm currently working on is nearly finished except for the fairy, a few pieces of scenery, some map images and the Boss, which I'm having a lot of difficulties with. Unfortunately my health's got worse recently so I've had to give it a rest because my drawings really suck when I'm not well.

KadoatieXD Thank you! :) When I have time I'm going to go back to this mod and attempt to sort out the bits that didn't fit together very well, like some of the eraser borders as they look a bit messy in places. Hopefully I might be able to fix some of the alignment issues too - those floating wool ball piles still look weird to me...

Thanks for your comment. :) I guess it's obvious I haven't made many mods before.^^' In the description I mentioned I wasn't 100% happy with the way things turned out. Even though I stuck to the texture files' original dimensions, quite a lot of them would display skewed or upside-down once they were added into the game. It might also be because my own art style is different to the style used in-game that makes things look a bit messy.

Amazing Rushil Maybe... but wouldn't that be nearly the same as playing the "Back to Origins" levels in Legends? I tried drawing a few things in the Legends style a while ago and found it really, really difficult, so I doubt whether I'd be able to make the mod look authentic enough.

Hey man, nothing to do with the mod (it's great btw) but, I just had this problem with Origins for the PC where I exited to the map, and got stuck! I couldn't move or anything, and it turns out my save file just corrupted, and I searched up and it can happen randomly, yet Ubisoft hasn't patched it for 5 years! I was just wondering if you have ever had this problem?!?!!

Wow, that's awful, I'm really sorry about your save file. Did you have all the electoons? I've never had something like that, the worst I've had is the occasional freeze where the game stops responding and I have to close and reopen the game. Thankfully the data was okay afterwards, but it did mean I had to replay up to wherever I was at the time before the freeze. It's unlikely Ubisoft will release any more patches for Origins, and even with patches glitches can still happen, though ideally things like that shouldn't happen at all. Has this happened to you with other PC games or just this one?

I agree, this should have been patched ages ago. It's good someone connected to Ubisoft's going to forward it to the developers, hopefully they can do something to prevent it happening again.

I'd guess it's a flaw with soft-modding. (As opposed to actually switching out files)

ssestakhch This is the only kind of modding I've ever done so I really can't tell. I think part of the problem is that I drew beyond the invisible 'boundary' lines for some of the textures without realizing it, so bits kept getting chopped off at the ends.
