Rayman Origins: Playable Nymph Mods

Maybe I should have called them "Fairy Mods" since they look more like fairies...? Either way, Rayman, Globox and Teensies aren't the only Heroes of the Glade now...
This is the first Playable character mod I've made (unless you count last year's Dark Mods). It's also the first time I've recorded a video at 720 resolution... and probably the last, since it made my video editing software crash three times and the lag was so bad I could hardly see what was going on. So, sorry about the lag and
sync issues, my laptop can't really handle anything over 480 resolution. :/
**Note**
Since these mods were based on the Globox templates, some things didn't come out right:
1. The running animation's kind of weird.
2. Some of the dance and attack animations are really, really weird.
3. Part of the Nymphs' faces disappear when sliding.
4. Because there are only three Globox characters in Origins, it's possible to have up to three Nymphs in play if you're doing multiplayer. But it also means you won't be able to use these pairs of Nymphs at the same time: Holly Luya and Helena Handbasket, Edith Up and Betilla, Annetta Fish and Fee de la Mort.
HOW TO RUN MODS

To run the mod files you need a program called Texmod, which you can download from here: code.google.com/archive/p/tex... (select the texmod zip file at the bottom of the list).
1. Open Texmod and click the large yellow folder icon in the top left corner. Select "Rayman Origins.exe" (usually found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Rayman Origins\).
2. Select Package Mode in Texmod, then select the mod (.tpf file) by clicking the small yellow file icon to the right.
3. Click "Run" and the game should load with the selected mods.
4. Enjoy! :)

The faces were very difficult to mod, like with the limbless ones. I couldn't get them to look the way I wanted but it was the best I could do.

You don't have to download the mod if you don't like some of the animations. Globox had a weird crouching animation to begin with, so it was difficult to mod.

Unfortunately not, it's not possible to add limbs to a limbless character. :(

I don't think Origins supports fangames but I could be wrong. I don't know how to make fangames, though it's something I've always been interested in.

Minor gripe, nothing that has to be added, but it would be cool to see the in game nymph models attempted to be recreated. I know modding I not easy in any circumstances but it would be a pretty cool thing to see

I've tried to make playable Nymph mods a few times but haven't had much luck so far. The biggest problem is most of the playable characters don't have limbs and there doesn't seem to be a way to add arms or legs to limbless characters.

I've had many similar comments over the years. The reason I used Globox was because it was impossible to add hair and hats to the Rayman sprite.@@huntmoped

Thanks. :) Sadly thing are still very difficult for us health-wise but we're hoping things will eventually improve. I don't have a direct link for the textures, but if you contact me from my channel's "About" page I could email them. As for the Nymph mods, I'd been hoping to rework the original ones along with adding the ones you mentioned, but it would take a lot of work and I can't say if or when I'll be able to start work on them.

Hi, have you unlocked all the playable characters? You need to play as Glombrox (the purple hairy frog guy) to use the Annetta character.

I'm not 100% sure but don't think so. It's possible to edit the level textures but not the levels themselves.

I agree, though these mods are old and I'd do things differently if I ever remade them. The hats are actually the top of Globox's head so that's why they look like they're coming off. I originally wanted to use the Rayman model but there was no way to add hair, hats or different clothes.

Thanks for the comment, but it would be more helpful for me if you could say what areas need work. I don't mind criticism as long as it's constructive. This was my first attempt at modding Globox sprites so there's bound to be mistakes. Even after several re-drawings things still don't look they way I wanted them to, as using Globox sprites for a base has a lot of limitations.

I'm not sure if this is possible but would you be able to fix the odd cutoff with the Nymphs' hats? It's look a little odd when they jump and their head is cut off. I would point out more things but they've already been listed in the description.

It might be, but so far I haven't found a way to do it. I tried shrinking the hats so that the cutoff disappears, but they still looked weird because they were too small. The hats were a real pain as they were modded on to the top of Globox's head, which wasn't ideal but Rayman and the Teensy had even fewer options.

It depends which Hoodlum characters you were thinking of, because some characters are almost impossible to make mods out of, especially playable ones.

Well I mean to make world mods which make the levels seem like levels from HH and make some characters and enemies mods which make them look like they are a hoodlum wearing a poorly made rayman or any other character costume or make a rayman character mod which makes him look like he is using the power ups from HH AND PLZ IF YOU CAN MAKE A MOD WHICH REPLACES NORMAL LUMS WITH BLACK LUMS I WILL BE REALLY THANKFUL!!!!! (Also tnx for wasting your important time with me ik I am asking a lot but HH is my first and favorite game and I really miss the characters anyway I wish happy modding and I hope you continue with your work because it's really good 👌)

Thanks for the links and comments. I don't like to disappoint people but I don't think this is something I could do, mostly because I'm very unfamiliar with HH's level design and am not confident with modding 2D games to look like 3D games. I've seen HH enemies and I don't think many of them would mod very well because of their shape, though I could probably make black lums and Rayman power-up costumes.

Forgot to ask, do you want all the Rayman 3 power-up costumes? The only one I'm not sure about is the Throttle Copter power up since it's very difficult to change Rayman's hair texture.

No, most mods are never as straightforward as copying/pasting. It's also not possible to mod the original character's animations.
