"Hi, folks! You wanna know what's going on?"
Quite a lot as it turns out. Mr Magician's been having lots of Origins adventures and he never even told us about them, the little scamp.
Like the playable Fairy mods, there's still a few graphical glitches I couldn't iron out; these are most noticeable with the sliding, diving and dancing animations. Also, only his hat is visible when he gets behind the photo board. Maybe he's camera shy?
HOW TO RUN MODS

To run the mod files you need a program called Texmod, which you can download from here: code.google.com/archive/p/tex... (select the texmod zip file at the bottom of the list).
1. Open Texmod and click the large yellow folder icon in the top left corner. Select "Rayman Origins.exe" (usually found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Rayman Origins\).
2. Select Package Mode in Texmod, then select the mod (.tpf file) by clicking the small yellow file icon to the right.
3. Click "Run" and the game should load with the selected mods.
4. Enjoy! :)

Well, kind of... but it wasn't supposed to. :) The game squishes the character's bodies around a lot so they end up looking bigger than normal depending on what animation they're doing.

Because it wasn't possible to add the hair and the hat to the Rayman sprite. It's a shame because the mod would have worked better if I'd been able to use Rayman.

i'm more curious aboyt: 1. why is the core character globox? 2. what health problems

The main reason I used Globox is because it's the only character model you can make fairly big changes to. The Rayman model would have looked better but there was no way to add the hat and hair. It's difficult to answer the second question without going into a lot of detail, but the main cause of my health problems is a genetic condition called Alagille syndrome, which affects people differently but in my case mostly affects the way my kidneys, liver and heart work. It affects other things like bone and tissue structure so it can make life very painful and difficult.

You should of created that character as Rayman without the hair. But that would be hard to design with his flying hair though.

The main reason was because there was no way to add the Magician's hat and hair to the Rayman model. It's a pity because it would have made a lot more sense to use Rayman.

As far as I know the only way to run mods is with Texmod. As long as you follow the instructions in the video description they should work. If I find another way to run them I'll let you know and update the description.

I haven't done Teensy Magician yet, but I might attempt one if my health improves. I'm sure I remember seeing a Teensy Magician mod by someone else but can't find the link at the moment.

I think someone was working on a Rayman 1 Rayman mod but I can't find it anywhere so perhaps it was never finished. I'm not currently working on any new mod projects until my health improves but if/when it does I might try to make one.

Thanks for your kind comment. :) The mods were made using a program called Texmod, which makes copies of in-game textures. I edited the copies using Paint Tool SAI, and used Texmod to combine the new textures into a texture package file. All you have to do then is launch the game using Texmod and it will temporarily replace the original textures with the new ones.

That's what I originally wanted to do but it wasn't possible to add the hat and hair to Rayman's head. The Globox sprite was much easier to work with even though the animations don't fit the character so well.
