Even if your getting more money for your lamb through a trade deal the public won't miss and value a product they don't consume. Undermining the whole Sheep farming sector in the long term. In a "climate crisis" that puts a big target on your back. This is why Welsh farming is being pushed of a cliff because people want trees more than lamb now. No farmers no food.

Having observed Raymond at various sales (mainly taking in the Bull Sales) over the years, great to see the personality behind the personality in the box, and brilliant insight into the hard work and dedication of all those that work in the markets. I already look to make sure I'm buying scottish products when I'm in the shop. I don't think people realise why the meat they buy can be so much cheaper. Unfortunately there is no value put into food these days and people just want the cheapest available product. Because I know farming. (My uncle is a sheep man). I know what goes into the products here and don't mind paying into the local economy. Maybe people need educated about these subjects.

Captions can be edited after they're automatically generated. They do a fair job but the editing is time and work that you need for other things. I follow a crochet channel and they actually had a team dealing with caption editing that worked through their backlog. So much work. Really the auto-captions aren't bad so I wouldn't worry about it.

@@FedByFarmersPodcast When you reach that point, there are a number of videos and websites with information about how to edit the captions. I was going to link something but a quick Google search turned up plenty of options. Though your audience is primarily English speaking, there are even options for uploading multiple languages if you find you've expanded into other regions sufficiently to need other languages. That's a whole extra skill set and probably a few years down the road but might as well put it on the dream list since Farmers are feeding the world.

The dosage and route of administration via bolus both make the Tracesure bolus fine for use here in UK. I believe it's because smartshot is an injection that causes the concern to policy makers.

I personally take selenium as a supplement so I wouldn't be concerned about that. However...and please do not see this as criticism as it's a question as opposed to a criticism due to the fact that I am not a farmer but want to learn more...but...I have noticed that sheep farmers have to constantly treat sheep for numerous things...how much of this is entering the food chain? I think it's a cause for concern but I obviously am rather ignorant and would appreciate if anyone could ease my worries here.

Some soils and areas are deficient in naturally occurring minerals and trace elements and so we would top up these trace elements with slow release bolus .Good husbandry of livestock is key to profitable and healthy livestock and as a result producing food to the highest standards and thus we as farmers must adhere to strict withdrawal periods and procedures when we administer all medicines and trace elements to our stock , keep accurate records and comply with all the rules laid down by our Departments of Agriculture and audited by the Quality Assurance Schemes we participate in , and as a result produce our meat to the highest quality which can be traced from farm to fork. Be confident in the produce you buy to be of the highest standard .

@@nuancematters would all depend on the product and the particular issue you were trying to treat ,cover / prevent, cure .Trace elements are not registered as a medicine with most Vetinary boards as these are naturally occurring but with reference to worming products these could range from 4 day withdrawal for general worming to 14 days ,whereas some particular product to deal with liver fluke the withdrawal ( that is when the medicine is no longer present in the animals system ) it could be up to 42 days , general antibiotics like penicillin depending on manufacturer is around 30 days,parasite control for lice scab and blow fly control would be around 40 days from last treatment, all of these will have be clearly stated on the packaging. Milk and meat may also have different withdrawals , and be reassured that meat and milk are regularly checked at abbitoirs and milk plants respectively for medicine residues. Hope I've been of help.

All depends on the product , and all depends on the treatment ,cure or prevention.trace elements supplements are not registered with the medicine board/council and as such don't have a withdrawal ( that is the time frame of a medicine been within the animals system ). All products may vary on withdrawal times and they may have separate withdrawal periods for either meat or milk .For general worming of sheep withdrawal can be as little as 4 days to up to 14 days from last treatment with more specialist products even longer , and if you were to treat for liver fluke it could be up to 42 days from last treatment and then the animal would be able to enter the food chain.General antibiotics like penicillin ,although it may differ from manufacturer is roughly 30 days withdrawal . For lice ,scab or blowfly control in sheep it could be up to 40 days withdrawal but again it would be related to lenght of preventive cover you would wish to have ie: summer grazed lambs nearing market weight don't need as long a preventive application. Be assured that all these details and product application rates etc are clearly printed on packaging ,and that random testing of both meat at the abbitoir and milk at both farm and processing plant are regularly carried out.hope this helps.
