This man is such a genius. His use of the English language is just superb. There's a contrast between a well-read, creative, genius storyteller. And a whiny, grumpy, belligerent drunk. He just gets better and better.
@comanchio19766 жыл бұрын
+Jack Grady Was just going to say the exact same thing! Not only is his imaginative and poetic command of the language utterly awe inspiring - the sheer brilliance of the concepts he conjures up in this particular routine, are absolutely peerless. He's easily one of the very best stand-up comedians of all time; if not *the* best, IMHO!

The wonderful irony of this bit from his show is that, whether he realizes it or not, he actually did open the door to his potential and ended up finding and personifying one of the best stand up comedians of a generation! (And that's without even mentioning the fact that he was responsible for "Black Books" too)

Cody111079 I think it's actually his, you can go find them on his website (if I'm not making a mistake; that's where you'll find them), there are plenty. What I wonder is if he sales when he is on tour, might be kind of cool. I never seen him live, but I hope I will be able to. He's a freaking genius! He also wrote books, if you are ever interested in it. But then, you might already know that sorts of things.

@N0nC0mprende You can still want to do stuff, yet be completely content. They aren't opposites, which is a very hard thing for a workaholic world to understand. A level of inner-contentment comes first before you can expect to feel any sense of accomplishment, and it comes from being excited, not disappointed, by the world as it is atm. Then you're REALLY driven to experiment with it and understand people better. This curiosity can get misconstrued as 'progress', though progress never...

what's sad is my life would be the only retort to Dylan's reasoned assessment of "potential" - yet i'm terribly unfunny and confounded most of the time so I would have to mime my feebleness and lack of purpose. It would inevitably be a successful mime, as mimes go, but sad nonetheless

IMO, Happiness isn't a pursuit. We all already have it, whether you accept it or not. So if you start looking for it, assuming your missing something, perpetually, all you find is a starving grey kitty with diarrhea who smokes. I think thats what he's driving at anyway.

@carlsunshine KZbin's whatever we want it to be. And trust me, I freakin hate academics writing. But living for the moment only and not trying to expand your mind, ignoring the unfamiliar; now THAT is actually boring. Thats a surefire way to not live.
