@@cooleon344 not movable by pistons iirc. will drop in item form when mined with silk touch enchanted tool and retain their functionality when placed again.

in my testing, stripped wood (the all six sides same) DOES properly activate the creaking heart, I think you might have accidently unaligned the wood. The logs or wood do need to be facing the same direction as the heart tmk.

The pillager being scared must be what the event meant when they said to use them as a form of protection to your base

The Creaking Heart works as a daylight sensor too, if coupled with an observer, which is cool because it does not need direct access to sunlight for it :D

Huh, pillagers being scared of the creaking is interesting, especially Johnny. Do witches also run away from them? If not, will they run away during a raid? Good to know they take up the mob cap though. I've seen videos of hundreds or even thousands of them spawning on superflat so even though they stop other mobs spawning they won't stop other creakings from spawning. I know the heart can function like a daylight sensor when paired with an observer so I have to ask; does that work in the nether and end dimensions too? It's a shame the hearts are only naturally generated, it would've been cool to play around with them in superflat. At least pale wood & moss is obtainable through wandering traders.

Other fun: If you wear a pumpkin, the creaking doesn't know you're looking at it and will still chase you.

4:55 It works on the stripped wood variation of pale wood (the fully stripped version) for me strangely, as long as I keep the axis the same

This answers many of my questions about how the creaking interacts with other mobs. Looks like adding creaking hearts to an ancient city will not do what I had hoped

yall can we talk about how absolutely silly it is that the creaking cant be damaged in any way possible, BUT THE DAMN ELDRITCH GUY MADE OUT OF DEATH (Skulk spreads via XP which is indicated by killing) CAN BE TAKEN DOWN? Explain this mojang.

The design methodology is “make mobs without drops so players won’t farm them”. I think they thought no one would have a reason to farm the Warden because one can get skulk catalysts in the deep dark without wardens.

The Creaking Not Being Able to Exist in other Dimension that Just its Biome where its Bounded to While the Enderman, The Closes Thing to it in Lore and Behavoir Can which Might be Huge Lore Drops for the History of the Ancient Builders and how crtain factions of them follow different Paths of Destiny either Escaping or Conquering Life And Death like the Illagers are trying to do (Maybe thats Why they are Afraid in the First Place)!!!!!

Would be fun if you could climb the hanging moss only for it to break after a second or so. Though with how much there is of it in the pale garden that might make it annoying

The creaking could have been useful for a lot of contraptions and things, but the fact that they despawn in the morning makes them useless. Hopefully they make some changes.

Yea, and the other bad thing about that is me and my friend plan on making a mob hall for every single mob in the game, but we can’t do the creaking now cause even if you chunk load it and name tag it, it still despawns in the morning

I don't even know what is creeking useful for, like a pufferfish does more damage than it without poison effect !!

They should definitely have it do more damage, especially on hard mode.

You can use it as a distraction against the Warden before going to an ancient city, you get the hearts with silk touch and whenever the Warden appears you put the heart on the ground as long as it's night it will work the Creaking will spawn and the Warden will be busy hitting him

Its definitely sad that there is no way to trick them into showing up during a day (tho i want to try out weather maybe), and also sad that there is no way to grow more of them •sigh• im going to have to clearcut SO many biomes

Creaking might be useful for keeping a wither cage safe! But I suppose it won't help with unload protection.

i saw someone test creaking mob from spawn egg with d/n cycle stopped during night and it seemed like those can drown, that is they despawned after being submerged for some time. i did not have time to check myself and see how that works for creaking mob spawned from heart. i wonder what is the spawn priority in case of no light sources, night falling and having enough activated creaking hearts to fill mob cap. will any other mobs spawn before creakings fill mob cap?

PLEASE change your title! It's misleading. The creaking is part of the Winter Drop which will be available in 1.21.3 NOT 1.22. We still don't know anything related to 1.22.

@@kinghurghada9538 No. The Winter drop IS 1.21.3. It's not 1.22. Mojang explained this very clearly. Game drops are not replacing major updates, these are still coming once a year as usual. Game drops are something more in between the major updates.

@@RaysWorks They stated it was a game drop. Game drops are minor updates, which changes the minor updates number, which is the X in 1.21.X. Sure we don't know if it will actually be a 3 or a 2 or any other number but it will definitely won't be 1.22, since that is reserved for major updates which game drops, as Mojang stated, are not. You should not put 1.22 in your title because that is not a major update, that's all I'm saying.

Since the creaking heart is only found in naturally generated pale oak and not user grown oak, I don't think it can be farmed

The creaking shouldn't despawn during the day, there is zero threat in the pale garden if you just go during the day. Also just having a creaking doesn't feel like enough of a use for the creaking heart, there needs to be at least ONE actual use in these small updates other than a new woodtype :/

Okay but imagine building a base there or staying out too late in that biome. It makes the night something more to be feared.

Agreed. Although I actually think that there should be a way to force it to not despawn during the day, like by surrounding the creaking heart with a certain block or something (tinted glass maybe?). I like that the naturally spawned creakings despawn during the day.
