Actually it's a neat idea, fluid simulations are optimised and are "volumetric", but it is probably already researched and implemented a while ago

@@xBosil I doubt fluid simulations are faster than raytracing though. Also worth noting that the fluid situation takes multiple steps of calculations, while ray tracing is done in one physics step. Simulating an entire fluid simulation to fill a room with light is cool, but not very performant.

I feel like you could do something with this, like make it so it’s constantly splashing off of every light source in the game (as in stuff like the lights in the warehouse, the lights in the mirror room, etc) to constantly give this effect. like the fake csm thing SAVAV and Alex made, but instead of the sun being one big lamp it would instead constantly be a object of some kind that is constantly bouncing colored water particles off it
