The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro is certainly a gaming mouse with a ton of features. This generation is the third revision of the original 2017 Razer Basilisk. Clocking in at a whopping $160.00 USD this mouse sports 11 programmable buttons, a tactile mouse wheel, an infinity scroll, Razer Hyperspeed Wireless, optical switches, 90-hour battery life, 30k DPI Focus Pro Optical Sensor, 4000hz polling rate, and many more software-based features. With all the boxes checked, could this be the gaming mouse with the best features in 2023?

If you set mouse precision to 1 on Windows, you can set the DPI to 25,600 on the mouse, for an effective DPI of 1600. This gives you the same 360º distance as a flat 1600 with Windows mouse precision at 6, while taking advantage of the maximum resolution your mouse allows. That's what people using those high DPI settings are actually doing.

@@TheRageAcademy The only issue you'll find is that plenty of games, especially old ones or consoles ports, don't support DPIs above 2000 or so. But if you play modern, properly designed games, it's a pleasure to play at the maximum resolution your mouse is capable of delivering.

I have a question, does this have integrated profiles? I mean, can I store dpi and polling rate in the integrated memories if I change computers, does this hold? Or do I have to always use it with the software?
@TheRageAcademy

@@pedrojoseavilamoreno7358 As far as I can tell, it needs to software to operate with the on board memory :( You have to run Razer Synapse for it to operate. So it's more like on-board software than memory Hope this helps, buddy!

For the razer software part you can use multiple devices for there uh synaps software its nice when you have multiple devices but for just a mouse, bro made me think about it why you need a software for a mouse but yea its nice either way :)

Be able to customize is nice, I just wish they did it in a better way. At this point, many months after this review. I’ve had synapse repeatedly update my mouse while I’m gaming even though I have auto-updates off…. I talk a bit about that in the Deathadder video. I really hope the market moves to a webUI with onboard memory being the standard soon

That sucks man. Can't say I've had the same problem and I heavy hand my mouse like a son of gun. At least Razer lets you send in the mouse for repair though vs. companies like steel series who just have you destroy your mouse to get a new one. Yeah, like I said in the video, if you can get by the weight. Although, I think there's this stigma in the PC gaming community which is lighter = better mouse, which isn't always the case. If Razer could shave maybe 30g off, this mouse would be in a top contender spot for me

@@TheRageAcademy Main problem=after about 7 months, the rubber on the scroll wheel stretched a lot, and now it slips when trying to scroll and I can't find a new scroll wheel on the Internet to buy and replace / there is no charge indication on the mouse, I had to buy a docking station to display the level charge / sometimes the software freezes (rarely, maybe 2-4 times a week) for 5 seconds the mouse does not work and this led to defeat in online games /mouse have very poor energy efficiency / It is also indicated on the docking station that the mouse can work at the polling frequency 4KHz (I carried out many tests, it gives an average of 1500, usually from 1300 to 1700, sometimes it drops to 900+ or rises to 2200-. The maximum number that was caught was 2303. The response was on average 0.8ms. The maximum that was caught was 0.6ms

That’s lame about the scroll wheel. I think a lot of these manufacturers should be providing after market parts to purchase for user repair. The software is absolute dog shit. I’ve disabled auto-updates multiple times and they always reenable. So the mouse will stop working when it decides to update. Usually I end up using it without software. It sucks it doesn’t have on-board memory though for custom profiles. I haven’t experienced the battery issues though. Mine is just about a year old and still going strong. It displays the battery percentage in the software for me too. I really like the shape, feel and the uniform scroll wheel on the mouse. I wish it was a bit lighter and had writable memory but it what it is Did you end up getting a different mouse?

@@TheRageAcademy on my old Cougar 700m the elastic on the scroll wheel stretched after almost 6 years... On the new Basilisk V3 Pro it stretched in just 6 months... Regarding the autonomy of Balisilk = at a polling frequency of 2000 MHz it is not enough for 12 hours (my working day 12 hours 2/2 days) - so I had to set it to 500 MHz (for 12 hours at 500 MHz - it eats up from about 100% to 30-35%% charge).. No, I didn’t buy a new mouse, in my country salaries are small (in on average about $500 per month), I get a little more, but I can’t change branded mice so often, so I’ll try to cut the rubber on the scroll wheel, cut off the excess and glue it back with superglue. I ordered professional glue from the online store and am waiting for delivery. I tried to find a spare scroll wheel on Chinese sites, but it is only available for older Razer models...regarding ergonomics = I would like a larger size and a little heavier + it would be desirable if there were wings for the fingers on both sides like on the old Razer Ouroboros.. Initially I wanted to buy an asus spatha, but in its patterns on the left wing dirt collects a lot and is difficult get it out of there..+ I have 2 stray cats and a dog at home, a lot of hair, I was afraid that their hair might get between the side buttons, there are a lot of gaps, that’s why I bought a basilisk... Once upon a time I had a Razer Lachesis 5600 and it served for almost 4 years, I hoped that the basilisk would work the same and not fall apart for at least 5 years...I bought it in the official online store razer on March 17, 2023 as a gift to myself for my birthday, which is on March 18th (white version) mouse v3 pro + dock pro station + delivery cost me about $285
