to be fair, this is still much better than apples pricing. To get a similarly specced 13in macbook pro you would need to spend $1999, and that wouldn't even have dedicated graphics. For 15in you would need to spend $2,399 (even though you'd probably only buy the razer for the 13in and build quality). Again, razer's laptop is overpriced, but not apple levels of overpriced.

I have been looking for a good device to start my architectural school back in september 2018 and from a Macbook pro 2013 I decide after checking a lot of youtube videos and to take the Aero 15x V8 (16Gb ram, 512ssd, gtx 1070, 4K,...) But what a bad choice...here I paid 3450 Swiss franc (more less same in US Dollars) and this machine run so many issu. even my old Mac haven't had that many issue in 5 years :/ - mouse is frozen sometimes - Bluetooth just decide sometimes to cut all my devide - I got many blue screen, somewhat like 10 in 4 months. - sometimes apps don't open so I needed to shut down and restart the laptop (even 2-3 times in some case) - in document folder after deleting stuff, it wont disapear instaid I go into a other folder and then go back - drivers in this machine are horrible :( - upgrading with a 16 Gb gskill of RAM was a nightmare - ect. For all just don't buy this laptop it's not stable at all even if the performance when editing and 3D modeling is great.

matebook has no usb type a; so lets say you were looking for a cheaper alternative to a macbook and ALSO wanted to avoid horrible dongles or just wanted a windows based pc, you literally could just buy any other laptop brand. ofcourse huawei is more focused on phones so i don't think their laptop will be that much better than any other cheaper laptop brand. the camera is located in the keyboard (get ready for awkward video conferences). ALL IN ALL, i personally dont think the matebook is even on the same level as a razer blade (which has usb type a). maybe a dell xps? YES. a macbook and the razer blade stealth are a better comparison; both over priced but build quality is superior and just might last longer (depends on what you use it for and how you use it). HOPE THIS HELPED. :)

I think it's aimed at people who want a somewhat professional looking laptop, that has some power (decent CPU, 16GB RAM). I think the only reason they gave an MX150 option is for the sake of it. I could see this laptop being a nice fit for myself for some virtualization that I do sometimes, because I don't really like the way most Windows laptops look. I don't care much for MacBooks but I have to be honest, they are the best looking laptops and it blows my mind there are almost no Windows laptops that are built like them. The 16:9 aspect ratio however, no thanks.

Its down to personal preference, I'm torn between this and the GS65, idk a 15inch will be too big or not, my desk is kinda small, I can fit my dad's MBP 13 while I'm doing homework now, but idk about a 15 inch device. If you mean light like the games aren't graphically intense (eg you are a patient gamer (older games), indie gamer, or some esports), then the mx-150 is probably fine. That's what I do and my older laptop's GPU benches around the same area as Intel UHD 620, so much worse than the mx-150

I recommend what I'm sporting for that. The matebook x pro is a fantastic little Ultrabook with a 3000x2000 screen and a combo Intel/mx150 video card setup so you get very good batt life when not gaming. And it's only $1500 for the i7 version.

1080p panels are much easier to produce in higher quantities, since manufacturers already have the equipment required for it. Since especially 1440 is produced on a much smaller scale now than the 1080 panels, manufacturers would need to invest a lot in more production capacity if they were to produce more, which especially for low-end panels and low-end laptops is simply not worth it.

The one case I see this being a viable option is if you're looking for a good performing all-round laptop, with decent battery life (much better than other gaming laptops under daily non-gaming tasks), portability of a 13-inch, nice aesthetics, and capability for gaming. It has better cooling than most thin-and-lights, and you can use an external GPU to overcome its GPU limitations. Unlike other 13" like the Dell XPS, this has Thunderbolt with full 4 PCIe lanes. So you can have a decently powerful docked gaming setup, and a good portable setup. If the price were a little lower, this would be a far more compelling offer.

the cost for this stealth + egpu setup cost almost $1000 more than a homes desktop+ another mx150 ultrabook.. if it was cheaper I would totally buy it yup @Jon Oden. xps13 no mx150

Just bought the MX150 for 1099! Although he states "why don't you get something like the bigger 15 inch laptops." I'm a "gaming enthusiast" but I primarily want portability and battery life that I can MAYBE play a game on it.

I agree. I love the product and components - Razer did a great job this year following the new "boxy" aesthetic and the upgrade to the MX150. I just don't have that much to blow on a new laptop.

I still say the Lenovo Ideapad 720s 14” with the MX-150 is the most stealth laptop in the industry for the money and for the scenario you’ve described in this video.

@@jager4583 less vram but still the 25 watts one. The memory is up to 4gb on both versions of the mx150. I, for example, have the 25w one but with 2gb of ram, which makes sense cause it's not really a gaming card, so 2gb is enough for it's purpose

I had the 720s for 3 days and returned it. The fans were insanely loud! And they would kick in during regular browsing when the GPU is not even running. The Zenbook is much, much quieter.

It's an amazing laptop for office work, gets hot quite easily tho, even from light work. And gaming is a no-go on Matebook X Pro, the processor clocks down to 1-1,4ghz when both cpu and gpu are in use. Terrible cooling solution in that laptop. (Had mine for a week and then gave it back to the store) Loved the screen, keyboard and touchpad tho! (except the touchpad rattle)

@@JontesTechTips Thanks for the review . Your next choice must be Asus Zenbook 15 UX533 , it isn't in stores yet . Ultrabook that comes with GTX 1050 , not sure about cooling system though

@@harshad5438 Sadly no thunderbolt 3, and 15" is unnecessarily large for me. Want a tiny laptop 13-14" with thunderbolt 3 (4 lanes) and good cooling. The matebook would have been perfect if it's cooling was good. So this razer might just be perfect! And the price is better than the matebook here in sweden! 😀
