to anyone watching, if you're going to do this, please please please don't make the same mistake as me, DO NOT use regular wd40, it must be the dr variant, when I used the regular, it messed my a few of my keys, 6 would someone either spam or not respond, and 3 would respond at all, I assume this is because the lube interfered and damaged the optical sensor, but I still don't know what happened.

Aside from this video being the most well documented modification, it's also the easily the best implementation, because your comparison of before and after are quite astounding! Most other content creators appear to gently type when performing the "after" presentation, but bash during the "before" presentation, almost as if they're attempting the skew their results to show "Wow?!?! What a difference!". Yet, more times than not, it appears they something didn't go as well as they had hoped. How did you remove the stabilizers?

there's a tab on the plate that you just pop out! very simple once you take a closer look at it

what the fuck if you did not keep the start at normal speed i would have never found out that the keycap pullers are so long and can fit multiple caps in them at a time!

On the live do u have to let it dry
@ThinhTran213 жыл бұрын
Yes! Let it air dry before putting it back in, and clean the outsides of the switches with alcohol wipes

do you think i should try this on my huntsman elite?

It's up to you, if you're careful and safe with it. It's very possible that it could break

Hey are there any alternatives for using the dielectric grease on the stabilizers? Can I use the dry lube instead maybe?
@ThinhTran213 жыл бұрын
Yea. However, it's the space between the moving parts scraping against each other that causes the rattling with the stabilizers and the dielectric grease will fill those gaps and cushion the parts from scaping each other. I suppose that dry lube will work also, but to a lesser degree because it's not as thick/viscous.

@@ThinhTran21 Oh okay I see now. Is Krytox a good alternative? since I can't find dielectric grease anywhere.

@@ThinhTran21 I’ve finally got to complete the mods. The difference is hugeee! Definitely worth the labour. Tho I noticed that the keycaps with stabilizers are just slightly off-level (higher) from the other keys even after applying force, is this normal?

wait u can use wd40 for lubing?
@ThinhTran213 жыл бұрын
Yes! It's an easy and effective way to lube switches, especially these Razer switches with an open design and no contact points within the switch. I used the one that's linked in the description, also read the pinned comment!

@@ThinhTran21 can i use it for gateron opticals?
@ThinhTran213 жыл бұрын
@@jeremyang8056 Yes, :3ildcat has a video on spray lubing gateron optical switches if you want to check it out! and it works for him. It's best if the switches are out of the case though.

@@ThinhTran21 but does it work if i just take out my keycaps and spray the wd40 in?
@ThinhTran213 жыл бұрын
@@jeremyang8056I'm not sure since there is an opening at the bottom of the gateron optical switches that could leak into the case/pcb :-( I'm sorry. I have no experience with that, but maybe you can do some more research on that.

Styrofoam is kinda stiff and light. If you want that kind of sound ok. But for damping you want something soft and heavy not stiff and light.
