OK, wow. This review is simply amazing. Thank you. I know last year when I was researching webcams, it took a lot of digging around to find useful information. I did not have any problem toggling the HDR in the Logitech Brio. I used the Logitech camera settings app on my Mac and it does make a difference. My office is setup with a back-lit situation, and I can't really move the desk around. But, of course, the best answer there is to simply get a light. The Lumecube panel kicks out enough to compensate and give a great picture.

Watching Webcam comparisons for the last 3 hours. By far (!) the most analytic and professional comparison I came across! And that OBS information might even just have saved me the money to upgrade my old Logitech C920 since it looks way better in OBS than it ever did before with Linux and it might be just good enough actually. I don't want to be too technical, however, the main difference between YUY2 and MJPEG is the chroma subsampling, YUY2 uses 4:2:2 pixel format (less color compression) and MJPEG uses 4:2:0 (more color compression), the more compression you have, the less detail you might get, your images might look too soft, etc; this is why you see tese differences. The best is when you have 4:4:4 (no compression), this is the equivalent to RAW in photos. Thanks for the video.

BRO!!! I've been researching webcams for a while now and youtube is full of rubbish reviewers EXCEPT FOR YOU!... Your reviews answer nearly ALL the questions one needs to make a decision. Even if you don't answer it upfront, the video and audio stream from the webcams answers it for you. Most other reviewers just straight up show webcam video/audio for like 10seconds and think their work is done. They show a 4k "30"fps choppy video running like 10FPS and NEVER MENTION THE ISSUE. I can't believe it took me so long to find you on youtube... Subsrcibed, i'm not letting you go now! :D Thank you.

While I may not agree with all of your judgements and conclusions (like the opinion on sharpness), you do provide an excellent comparison material for making one's own opinion - and that is a thing most welcome. You are also the first channel reviewing Kiyo Pro that I have seen that dared to go deeper into the flaws of the HDR mode - I had zero idea such motionblurry artifacting could take place, and I had watched... around 5+ reviews of that device prior to watching this video.

Damn. Fantastic review and the best I've seen comparing these webcams. Thanks for this! I finally know which webcam would work best for me instead of having to guess! The different lighting situations were particularly useful since I use Zoom in all sorts of variable lighting, and accurate color is SUPER important. Kiyo Pro for me!

Thank you. I purchase these for my corporate charges. I was placing an order today (the old Kiyo's I got years ago are starting to break from high use) and needed some reference. I decided to go with the Kiyo Pro because these people are not tech gurus , but need to "look good" when talking to clients without all the setting adjusting.

I dislike the color of the wall behind you in both the logitech cameras - to me (imo) the best color was consistently with the kiyo pro... I didn't notice the orange coloring on any of my monitors watching your video but I did notice this reddish / maroonish tint in the logitech cameras that seemed very prominent... I did think the brio handled lighting better in a lot of cases... Gotta pull the trigger today - ughhh.... Leaning towards the kiyo pro at the moment... Tell me I'm wrong and why! Please! Lol

@@iam2loki4u Yep, the Logitech cameras definitely have extra red. Since colors are out of the way, I'd say it's down to whether you want 4K or are ok with 1080p. 4K, Brio. 1080p, Kiyo Pro.

Great comparison! Just picked up the Kio Pro for $80 after tax on Prime Day. Although the Brio seems to check the most of your boxes, I'd consider the Kiyo Pro a win if it's almost half the price. (Plus I think I like the skin tones more on the Kiyo Pro.)

@@ensi1645 bought the kiyo pro on amazon (used) for $54. 1 year later still going strong. using a dedicated mic so can't speak to audio quality. software is a bit annoying but the video quality is great and it works well in a variety of lighting conditions.

Great review and thanks for you thoughts! Really amazing comparison of all the main webcams. I'm probably going Kiyo Pro, but that's mostly because it's on sale right now for $100. The Brio is still at $150, and I think the price / performance on the Kiyo pro can't be beat. And I already have a regular Kiyo so I'm already dealing with Razer Synapse software! I picked up a Brio the other day and similarly noticed that HDR doesn't seem to do anything, but have since discovered that all it is doing is toggling the "Backlight compensation" setting on and off (aka 0 for off, 1 for on). It's really not HDR at all, just seems to darken the whole image a little bit if it determines you are backlit (or it does nothing if you're not).
