Deal-breakers: - No VESA mount - Mandatory USB for lighting - Cable system is over-complicated - 8bit panel in 2019 - Price I've got nothing against Razer, but there are just too many flaws in this design to give it a pass. It’s a 13-16ms monitor for people who play with color. If you play in black and white only, then you have a true 1ms G2G (Gray to another gray color). This is a marketing strategy to hit gamers who dont know much about it. We gamers today should care about input lag (the time it takes for a frame to transport from the CPU/GPU to the monitor & update info on the monitor). And in future, we should care about a true gamer’s dream, a 1ms any color to any color, because, let’s get real, we dont play in black or white.

I mean it's not too far off honestly. I think it's only ~$100-150 more than the general market. The stand is definitely higher quality than it's competitors regardless on if you're a fan of the design. With thin bezels and lighting also. All that little stuff costs money so I don't think it's a ridiculous ask, but also none of that really matters to most people looking for a monitor. If it were $50-100 less I think it would be a strong contender. We'll see how it sells I guess.

You could not have released this at a better time. Thank you. I been researching monitors for weeks now. Being a creative I was leaning towards the HP 4k Z27. After building my 1st rig a month back and picking up Gears 5, I figured something with a higher refresh rate would be nice to have. I've been looking for a very particular monitor - 27" 1440p IPS 144hz w/ type-c and g-sync compatible. I stumbled on the Asus Tuf VG27AQ which I think after watching this is a no brainer. It has everything this monitor has, minus the type-c (but you mentioned this isn't a fully functional type-c port). You are also able to pivot the Asus Tuf a full 90 which is great for content editing. You can turn on motion blur with adaptive sync simultaneously (apparently this is a first). My only gripe is the bezel. I like things that have a clean and simplistic design. I know with gaming monitors this is hard to find. I love the Dell S2719DGF, but its a TN panel unfortunately =(. IMO - if you are looking for a monitor strictly for gaming and you like curved displays, the TUF Gaming VG32VQ is a 31.5" VA Display and would also a great option at $260 cheaper than the Razer Raptor. Me personally, as a creative, I need the IPS panel and the curve would drive me nuts in photoshop. .... After talking this out, I think I just convinced myself which monitor I should get.

(Viper and Basilisk) - optional Mouse Bungee on the right and left (for lefties) - Thinner and get rid of the routing. - Keep the RGB Zones Use the front OSD to change the LED Zone colors instead of requiring Synapse. So your saying the other monitors that you linked in the description are the exact same as the razor?

I absolutely agree with the conclusion, except I would put it just a bit different, just to to avoid the shitstorm in comments from Razer fanboys... "This is monitor for Razer faithfuls" :))))

Checked out this monitor at the Razer Store in Las Vegas...I legitimately couldn't see any back light bleed at all...to the point that I didn't trust what I was seeing. Considering my PG279Q looks like reverse vignette settings after only 6 months...The $700 price tag doesn't seem too bad anymore.

27" is pointless. Reason is the human eye can't even see more than 24 inches. Its just wasting space.

The only 240Hz IPS 1440P monitor we're aware of is the upcoming Acer XV273X. Supposedly that'll cost well over $1200.

Good call out on the cables, they need to alpha test products with KZbin tech reviews before release to ensure this kind of thing doesnt happen

Is there a notable difference between a Gsync compatible and a fully supported gsync monitor with the gsync module.
@AllOutNoobHater5 жыл бұрын
If you're going to do monitor reviews, and say that the monitor "seems calibrated", please get a color calibrator and show results for just how well the monitor does. Linus does these on his, and it's good to see if companies are keeping quality control well done from monitor to monitor. Plus, it's just good to know before buying the product.
