An excellent review, very scientific and to the point. Myself, I have the LG 27GL83-A which is the non-usb version of the 850. I actually found that the HDR does show slightly more detail in the darkest areas when looking at a Pluto satellite picture, whereas SDR would just display these pixels as black. That said, SDR does have better contrast and colors pop out more in that setting. I play in HDR myself. The motion blur is inexistent, smooth as peanut butter.

Just got the LG GL850. Zero light-bleed, and no stuck/dead pixels. Red is over-saturated by default, so toned it down a bit in the settings. Brightness is way too high out of the box, but again, simple to fix in the settings. Contrast seems fine to me. Gaming and GSync work great; very happy with this monitor, as this was what I bought it for. Only slight negative would be the panel uniformity - mine is very slightly lighter on the top-right when viewing a pure white background. In normal use, however, it's simply not noticeable. @@Krystalmyth I dont need VESA mounting, and no rotation means the panel will always be level.

How do you like the monitor so far? I plan on picking one up with my tax returns. Any noticeable panel issues?

I would like to see you guys also test the audio out jack on monitors that support it. It goes without saying that not all audio out jacks are made equal. The one on my Samsung monitor distorts at high volumes. I'm sure other monitors might have their own set of issues. A simple test for THD, noise and frequency response should be enough.

Thanks for letting us know. I've taken note of your suggestion for a future test bench.

Tried 4 examples of LG 27GL850-B - all of them had issues with black uniformity, light bleeding and so on....
@v1m304 жыл бұрын
Would buy the LG but only if it was 31.5" and had 1100:1 or greater contrast. This under 1000:1 contrast on the LG panel is a big turn off.
@hendsomjack4 жыл бұрын
Its slightly weaker in real use, that why in every review they mention it as no big deal. But check every other box and whats more important its seem they uped QC very high so small chance to get defect panel.

The contrast isn't as bad as it may seem on paper.

They do have 34 inches of the ulltragear just not 31.5.....but the contrast is okay its really not that noticeable. my old asus 23 has 1000:1 but i find my LG being able to push it brighter than the asus which compensates for it.
