Razer Viper Mini Review after 2 years: Is it still worth $20?

I used this for competitive play, it's probably my end game because of the shape for my hand. I've tried plenty of mice between 50$ and 150$ and this definitely holds up against them 👍

You can fix the scroll wheel problem by taking apart your mouse and putting a tiny bit of toilet paper on the peg that inserts into the scroll mechanism. The peg doesn't fit well and it will slip out of phase with the mechanism, then snap back into place suddenly causing the random scroll inputs. This also causes up scrolls to register as down scrolls and vice versa. The toilet paper fix isn't perfect, but it's pretty good. Viper mini has very low quality clicks and buttons except for the left and right click... But it also costs $20 and has a very nice sensor and 2 nice clicks.

I have had this mouse for two years, and the only things i think would be better is make a wireless version which is a tad bit bigger

great review,but just wanted to point out that during the sound test the music was still playing in the background which is kind of annoying .if you take it out from new upcoming reviews it will be great

I wish I had a link, but I bought it from a local store here in Pakistan called Miniso. Sadly they don’t sell them anymore but I was able to find a few, not exactly similar, on Amazon but really don’t know about their quality.

i use zowie EC-2A, i want to get this mouse, but i dont know if its gona be small for me, i compared size of those 2 mices its like few milimeterd diffrence, but on pictures and videos, Viper mini looks so small idk how lol.

Ikr even when I was buying, it always looked small in the videos and in comparison to other mice out there. But after using it and seeing in person, it’s a decent size. I am a tall guy with average sized hands, and I was already using a much smaller mouse than this. So this was like okayish size for me really. Only if it were a bit bigger but that’s whole point of mini. I guess you won’t really feel that much of a difference. Maybe try it in person before buying to compare it with Zowie one you are using.

Unfortunately, you have a counterfeit version of the mouse. You can check your serial number or the mouse will not be recognised using Razer Synapse. There is a thread on Reddit about this.

Lmao fortunately I have been using this mouse since 2 years and Razer Synapse app did recognise it, I do change every setting I want on the synapse app and that is why I was able to change the DPI too and Synapse app did show a pop up in the video. And everything works fine as it should. But still curious to know how you draw this conclusion though. It will be really helpful for others maybe to look for things to avoid before buying.

@@FaizanJavair If you look at reddit there are some threads showing build quality difference by looking at the bottom of the mouse. (the fake usually has typeface issues and lack of the required legal markings). You can also try to see if Razer will recognise the serial number when registering the product to prevent purchasing a potential fake.

Some are also just revisions, Razer has been updating the build quality of the Viper Mini secretly throughout the years.

@@ProjectSkillsQMUL Well yeah this is what I read too before buying and found out that Razer has two manufacturing countries, China and the second one I guess was Taiwan. The initial versions have always been made in Taiwan and after a few months they started shipping the China build too. Although the fakes and the Originals have a day and night difference but the Original Chinese and Original Taiwanese build have few build quality difference, but not soo drastic that it stops working. But I have been seeing a lot of reddit posts of people running into issues on the Razer website of their S/N not being recognized but those were fixed by contacting customer support however razer synapse always recognized their devices and Razer has probably the worst system on their website and there have been a lot of complaints about it though. But I think as long as synapse recognizes it then it's all good.

@@FaizanJavair Ah ok, I have an early 2020 model, but have developed some creaking on the right click button which is a common issue apparently, do you have this on your version? I tried to fix by pressing down hard on it like suggested, but its only temporary and comes back within a few clicks.

Ohh I forgot to mention that in the review. Apologies, but generally on a normal mouse pad it’s fine. I never really had issues with it. And fast movements and lifting the mouse a little while moving was never an issue. For me personally it was accurate while playing Apex, Valorant and CSGO.

Lmao I got it from a Local Chinese store called Miniso. I don’t think the company exists everywhere, I was just wondering around the mall until I saw this and bought it. It’s a normal mouse pad, smooth enough for the mouse to easily glide on. But I found it for like $15 like 2 years ago.

I don’t think there really is a way. But if it connects with the Razer software then it’s definitely legit but before buying maybe check the box and compare it to the ones on the internet. When I was buying people talked about that it is manufactured in two places, one made in china and second in Taiwan and some did report that Taiwan one was a better made. But for me, I got the china one, and yeah haven’t had any issues with it. Usually there aren’t any issues with either of the build.
